Good morning all,
The clear stone chip guards on my GT are just starting to discolour! Has anybody replaced them with ones on ebay and if so are they difficult to do?
Has anyone just taken them off and left them off?
Finally, who are the best people to get them replaced by in Yorkshire rather than attempt to to them myself and bodge it?
Thanks in advance.

I took all mine off a couple of years ago when I resprayed my side skirts. I only do about 1000 miles a year so I'd rather touch up the odd stone chip here and there than have those ugly things on. I did save them however so I can make new ones with some clear vinyl if I ever want to.

Mine were taken off when I had some paintwork done and have not been replaced.

You can get the genuine parts from Eurospares and Scuderia:-

I got mine replaced after i got a full polish done. First factory stock, those were ****. My detailer used those to cut new ones from xpel foil. They are great, you only notice the edge when looking for it.

I would recommend taking the old ones off and have a xpel installer cut new ones and install. Might be bit more expensive but guaranteed a good look and no worries about discolouring.

Made some pics, these are really angled to get the edge on the photo. Which was quite hard. Left is no flash, right is with flash on.

Hi
Are you talking about the film just in front of the rear wheel arches? I've got black guards which are ok but don't extend down to the sill and are now looking a bit tired.

Replace them for sure! The manufacturer fit them which admits that area of bodywork is especially prone to stone chips

If it’s just discolouration have you considered a polish with brasso or 3m compound, just try a small area to see.
