Stick, twist or bail...

I am undecided on what to do with the Ghibli. Its now coming up to 90k miles and will need a few k spending on it (wheel refurb, 4 tyres, service and possibly brakes). Apart from that its in A1 condition. So obviously man maths are coming into play...
There are some Ghibli Gransports coming available now for <£50k as ex demos. I am debating replacing mine with one of these. However, the options I have are..
1. Stick to what I've got. Its been great and I like the colour and spec. Just might have some big bills if anything fails.
2. Chop in for another one. They dont look much different though. Trade in wont be great though
3. Chop in for Alfa Giulia Quad, and get a run around aswell as I do 20k miles a year.
4. Stick to what I have got and wait for Alfieri....!

Any thoughts??

4!

What do you estimate the cars value with 90k miles on?

What do you value the car with 130k miles on?

I tried we buy any car which I dont think is accurate (hope not!) came out as £13600! If dealers are wanting to shift unsold diesels though Im sure the price to change would be ok

At 130k I would have no idea.. though not much!

If you look at what early Ghiblis are retailing at with normal miles and the WBAC 5-10% discount then that is not too bad. I would stick with your current car, low depreciation will always pay any bills that are due. Mind I would not want to be putting 20k miles pa on a £120k Alfieri.

Option 5

Keep the current Ghibli (don't see any reason your's shouldn't be ok for another 100k)

and get a GranTurismo as well :)

Alfieri might also require a run around.

I'd thought of keeping the ghibli and getting another nice car.. a gt or a quad but it's a bit frivolous

You're posting this, so I think that means you want a change, otherwise, the obvious answer is keep it. It's not going to depreciate much more compared to the other options, and if /when something you really want comes along, make a move then.

This , up until a couple of weeks ago I'd only seen pictures and videos on YouTube , saw one in a dark metallic red , it looked and sounded fantastic , though If you do get a run around I suspect you might be turning to the Alfa too often as you leave the front door

And hunt for one with the carbon back seats as they look stunning and give the Alfa even more sense if occasion.

A bloke at work has one and he took me out in it. Its a serious bit of kit.

I used to run a 156 GTA before the Ghibli, and I did 160k miles in that in 10 years. Loved it. Was on its original clutch when I sold it!

I love having a Maserati though, even a pretend one ;)

This. Then option 3 - they're lovely them Alfas.
Otherwise, what BibBob said about depreciation vs. bills.

My car is three and half years old albeit with a miniscule mileage currently just under 12k.
I will be sticking with what I've got for a few reasons.
There is nothing this side of £100,000 which has more presence and feel good factor.
I read there has been a shake up at Maserati, with the ex boss being brought back, and the brand being repositioned away from Alfa, and moved back up market. Also talk of new models including a Ghibli Quatroporte replacement and the launch of the Alferi. Although electric drive trains will figure highly in future models.
Finally a lost my job yesterday as FX Broker and am unemployed in a very difficult climate, and I don't mean the snow!

Don't wait for the Alfieri
Look how long it has been promised and who knows what will turn up under that name.
Out of interest what is your opinion of the Ghibli as I am in a similar position. I want to stick with Maserati but there are problems with the range at the mo

You won’t get 13.6 for it unless you trade it against another one at a main dealer and then they’re just building more into the price to make you feel better. They go through the auctions with 30-50k miles on them for 15-17k. Keep it and buy something else for high days and holidays.

This. No brainer. Rack up the miles on this and buy something to put a smile on your face. If you chop it in for a new ghibli diesel you would need a psych assessment. It’s A lot of car for 13k ish

Yes I must admit i don't think there's enough new on the 'new' model. If you do high miles in any car they won't hold their value well.
I suppose now it's a toss up between an Alfa quad or the Alfieri...
