Steering wheel spacer?

Sorry, another question tonight...

I'm 6'7" and struggle to fit in the car, the biggest problem I have is reach to the steering wheel, so much so I am considering a Momo Prototipo, which through previous experience, I know will offer the increased reach I'm looking for.

However, it could be a problem with the gearbox paddles.

Based on what I can recall of taking the steering wheel off, I think a spacer could be a solution, between the paddles and the hub itself.

Is there an off the shelf solution available? Thanks.

I am also interested. I made spacers that allowed me to move the seat back 3", but it's uncomfortable to reach the wheel then without having the seat back in a position similar to a hill climb car of the 30's.

Air Bag will be an issue using the wheel you want unless it's for off road use.

Not really, all you need to do is put a 3amp fuse in line instead of the air bag. Done this a few times on various Alfas. Being my size (and weight) I doubt an air bag will be that effective in a heavy impact.

Nothing off the shelf I am afraid, as the paddles are attached to the column stalks. See https://www.sportsmaserati.co.uk/index.php?threads/cruise-control-retro-fitting-guide.14692/

Maybe a solution would be to make different shape paddles or some sort of extension. The change in leverage ratio will change the “feel” of the action, but could solve the issue.

Looking at the pics I have;

I think you could just unbolt the paddle and add a spacer with longer bolts. Trying to find a decent pic of the steering wheel hub now....
