Hi C-Man, its the one refered to as the pin-in-Torx or Security Torx

10th silhouette image down:

If you are passing through Chadwell Heath mid-week at all, drop into Cookes Engineering behind the Eva Heart Pub (Next to the station) as they do a chocolate block set for a 1/4" hex-driver for a very reasonable price. Contains sizes 10 up to 40

No probs, I'm sure there is Cromwell's Tools near to you anyway, they'll do the bits either loose or as a kit.

Found a set of screwdriver bits at the local electrical place. £6.79 in toto. Just need a 6mm socket.

I shall bite the bullet at the weekend, I think.

I decided that I wanted mine to be the same colour a the rest of the interior so I purchased some identical faux leather and replaced it.

While we are talking wheels, can't decide whether to fit this wheel to my car.
It's brand new never fitted.
One minute I would like a GS carbon fibre wheel (££££), the next I think all Maserati's should have a wood rim (tradition)
What do you think?

As its shown in the photo, I don't think it matches the rest of the interior very well. You have a very tan and black interior, the additional colour of the darker wood seems out of place. But that's using my eyes and that photo, perhaps it's different when fitted.

Sorry Mike, it dates the car if you ask me. If you fancy something different get it recoloured to match the interior, I have some people who would do it for not much money.

The wheel fitted is all black, I wouldn't want to recolour it lighter to match the beige interior to be honest. As a black wheel goes, it's okay, I just would like a black GS wheel!

Nick, is there some type of material that's suitable for covering airbags? I was under the impression (possibly wrongly) that there was a legal requirement that any airbag was marked SRS so that anyone needing to dismantle knew that there are explosives in there. Beyond that, I was *also* under the impression (again possibly wrongly) that the material was either deliberately weakened, or just plain weak, to allow the bag to deploy within its design criteria.

Just curious, like.

C-man, when you have the airbag out if you flip it over you can see a wavy line on the inside of the plastic frontage that is the weakening and this presumably also has hinges top and bottom. I don't think the leather/faux-leather would put up much fight. If you see the Copart motors that have deployed seat or door card airbags these just shred the stitching to deploy and yet the same stitching on the seats has to put up with fat gits like me jumping in and out all the time!

I have a wooden gear knob which would match that wheel quite well.... if interested in selling I would be interested.

I guess that mine probably should have "Airbag" embossed on it maybe I will think about a stamp for the material.
Not sure about the material making a difference, The original is quite strong.
