Steering wheel airbag not connected

Just in case people want to check, I did the cruise control on the car I just bought thanks to Conaero on this site but I when I removed the steering cowl what’s in picture 1 dropped down then when I removed the airbag I found it wasn’t connected and the wires had been cut off the slip ring. Would of only found out when my face hit the steering wheel in a accident. Found a second hard slip ring and fitted it in.

Or the airbag warning light is covered in mastik. Had that on a 5 series once. It’s 2 hours work to take the dash out and gum up the light. It’s 5 minutes to change the airbag. Fuckering muppets.

That should have thrown an airbag warning, unless the wires were connected somehow!

C
Pictures 1 was plugged in to the airbag socket that the slip ring would usually be plugged into, I’m guessing it an airbag simulator.

I just don't understand the mentality of someone who would do that. There truly are some deranged loons around.
