I am looking for a good crisp sound, not so loud that it wakes the neighbours if you have to trundle off somewhere early doors, but certainly quite a bit louder than than the standard pipes. What set up should I be looking for?

I will soon be selling my 4200 CC (2004) and in anticipation have taken of my Quicksilver X Pipe and Quicksilver Sport Silencers.
All of which will be for sale. I'm not back to UK until Xmas so they will be collect only from N Wales.
My wife flatly refused to act as despatch clerk any longer!

This.

Unless you don't already have valved GS boxes with control... Not sure what the options are there for introducing a control for a 4200?

Also simples. Formula Dynamics valve control kit. Got one in the GT. Roughly an hour install....

Like I said in an earlier post I fitted Larini back boxes, and now going to reinstall the OEM resonators instead of the X pipes to try and reduce the drone below 3K revs on the motorways, these days it appears almost impossible to cruise at 3K+ due to road works speed restrictions and so on.

Just means you have proper neighbours. Best hope they don't move. It's difficult to get good ones :)

My neighbour told me that my engine makes his living room vibrate... his house is set slightly closer to the road and when I'm warming up the car at the end of the drive ita parallel to his living room... He doesnt mind though as he owns a mustang but it's not very loud

I have a friend with a Mustang. He is thinking about drilling some holes in his exhaust after hearing the Strad.

He'd be better advised to record yours and play on his Mustang media system. It's as close as he will get :)
