If its headlights you can only upgrade the bulbs if you are in the UK as new MOT regs ban aftermarket HID systems.

Welcome to the forum. The factory xenons have headlight washers.

The headlights on these cars are not great either way. Changing the bulbs will help - halogens get very bad lumen depreciation and fail quickly but if you have factory xenons which have never had a lamp changed then they would have lost a fair amount of their output over the last 18 years.

I always drove my 4200 with the foglights on (the front), made a huge difference. And it didn't look like you have fog lights on either.

If you have xenon you could swap for osram nightbreakers or similar. Had good results on other cars with those.

Before you waste your money.

it is not permitted to convert an existing halogen headlamp unit for use with HID bulbs. The entire headlamp unit must be replaced with one designed and approved for use with HID bulbs and it must be installed in accordance with the rules stated above.

This legislation is aimed (geddit) at folks who fit xenon bulbs to standard reflector lamps and dazzle everyone in the near vicinity with their ruined beam pattern.

With a projector headlamp as fitted, the beam pattern isn’t affected and there is no way of detecting it at MOT as no covers can be removed.

I did this on my GS with good results.
