Spyder: Engine problem after battery disconnect

Hi all

I have had my battery disconnected for about 2 months. Now I wanted to wake my Spyder up again. Unfortunately this went not as smooth as expected. After having the battery fully charged and then the wires reconnected I tried to start the engine. In fact it starts but goes out again after about 2 seconds. No error light is active on the dashboard and I could not notice any other strange symptoms. I tried it several times but the behaviour is always the same; the engine starts as normal, goes to idle and after about 2 seconds stops again.

Any idea on what could cause the problem and how to fix it? The car was running perfectly well before. A standard ODB scanner showed no errors.

Any help is much appreciated.

Kind regards from Switzerland
Martin

Are you able to keep it running using the throttle? It will be trying to relearn everything.

I’d have a look at fuel supply first. I think there’s a Schrader valve under the black cover on the fuel rail. Start it, wait for it to die, turn ignition off, press valve in with pointy thing, use a cloth to prevent spraying in your face. If the fuel isn’t under pressure you’ll know it’s the issue.

Not necessary to start it to check fuel pressure. Just turn the ignition on for a few seconds.

In the meanwhile I have checked fuel pressure. Still ok after engine dies. So something else must shut it down. Any ideas
