We did tell him!!! Benny you do realise that adding 3200 elements to your car will affect the reliability. He laughed..... He who laughs last and all that....

You say that Dave but I the electrical issue with Bennys car was caused by the 3200 lights  ......

Yeah, that is bloody funny, Andy. I'm sat on the train, chuckling.

Regardless of which car's the most reliable, is the Bennywagon back on its own wheels and purring like a kitten again?

Small world. Our Lancia Flaminia used to live in a big house on the hill above your heads - Altachiari. She belonged to Countess Agusta. Her husband Corrado bought it for her new in 1959. The house was built by Lord Carnarvon of Tutankhamen fame. He named it after his family home Highclere. Must visit sometime.

Sorry to hear of the car problems - I had front tyre issue in the Swiss Alps and it took two days to get a replacement !!
Amazing trip though, wish I could have joined you

Do you think - Or they said, "oh look, there are some poor people in town" lol....

You maybe right!

However, the mental image of sitting in one of the cafes overlooking the harbour, with a cold beer or a large negroni, and watching the people go past and admiring a long line of Maseratis is appealing... that would be a moment to remember...

Sorry Ben!

Dave

Dave, your apology isn't needed. I had been dealing with stupid f*cking french peasants all day and I had one nerve left, unfortunately you twanged it. My blood pressure is now back to normal and I realise the folly of what happened. No harm, so no foul. On we go! :)

It's a smaller world than you think, minding my own business at work today and these pop in!

From an intelligent Italian friend who appreciates life. Ciao

It should have been but the french arseoles havent even got it to the garage yet, so I spent all morning, shouting, cajoling, abusing, coaxing and insulting them and eventually they agreed to repatriate the car. This saved me a 3000km own expense round trip to pick the fecker up and a massive repair bill. I'll sort out it out myself when I get it back. I don't know what I'll be thrashing the bollocxs off on the way home as yet but I do know it will suffer greatly.

I’m rooting for the Frenchies giving you a 2cv. That would make a great picture!

Roger now back with the pack as we leave Portofino around noon this morning and head for Como with a in and out visit of the ALFA museum at Arese.

This hotel, Cenobio dei Dogi is absolutely stunning and many of us will be returning. Pay the extra and get the Sea view suites, they are massive. Bedroom, dressing room, lounge, bathroom with Jaccizzi and a balcony, dual aspect. Even got 2 TV’s.

Como will be eaqually as good I feel. We have powerboats on order and champagne in ice.
