I thought he looked happy because his car wasn't on the truck with about 10mm to spare under Blondie and Crofty looks pleased to have something more comfortable to sit on after a week in his car.

**** biscuits, I just received a €100 ticket for driving through the pedestrianised zone in Siena.

It was worth it for the look on the local's faces. I seem to remember Crofty making the same mistake. Oops.

Just when I thought I'd got away with it, over 6 months after the event, this landed this morning. Fine of €210 for speeding reduced to €158 if I pay in 5 days. I was where it says so will have to cough up.

A bigger question for the esteemed collective is that the second form is for the deduction of 3 points from my licence. From some googling, others suggest that I should ignore this since they can't put points on my UK licence but any other thoughts?

It looks like the Italian authorities are getting their act together so let's see if more arrive.

As far as I know the plans to have cross border points never happened. So I’d ignore it.

Were out of the EU now so Italian rules don't apply, if you can blag it until the end of the year they defiantly wont!

Not sure how the DVLA deals with cross border disputes though.. Just bin it!

To be ‘done’ in this country you have to be issued with a Notice of Intended Prosecution (NIP) with in 14 days of the offence. If not received in that time the offence officially lapses. I’m not paying mine, but if you have €158 more than you need, go right ahead and pay. They’ll have to prise mine from my cold, dead fingers. Bollocxs to them.

Benny.

Is it not 14 days of the offence being discovered?
