I get that. After having my XFS for 18 months, it's very good. But just not exciting.
Would I have one again. Probably not.
Would I have it's predecessor an E Class. Definitely.

I just don't think Jaguar make car that 'hit the spot' when compared with the opposition.

Jag F type or Maser GTS?
Jag F Type or Lotus Evora?
Jag F Type vs Porsche 997.2?

Wouldn't have the Jag over any of them, even though it's the newer car.

Agree Mark....As a fun weekend toy definatily not. As a daily drive though definatily.

Jag F type or Maser GTS? Can’t see me ever owning a Maser again
Jag F Type or Lotus Evora? SWMBO couldn’t get in and out of the Lotus
Jag F Type vs Porsche 997.2? P car not my cup of tea. Boxster for wife ...maybe

So that leaves the Jag then,,,lol..

Dave you wouldn't be disappointed with an F Type.......Especuially the V8 noise and you would never tire of looking at that shape...To be honest the V6 sounds pretty good as well.

If I can get in and out of an Evora, your missus can with ease.
I didn’t realise they’d got this low until the other day. I’d never really had a yearning for Loti (probably because I’d never been able to fit in them until recently), but Harry Metcalfe’s video on the Sport 410 really has awakened the senses. Well, that howling engine note, definitely. I’m sure a Cayman GTS/GT4 is ‘better’, but I’d be heading to Hethel...

100% agree. The Evora 410 has stirred my old flame for Lotus. I also watched the Harry video on it yesterday and it would have to be on my shopping list at this price point...…….I rather like this one that's been for sale for a while....Would imagine the interior colour is not for everyone but I love it...…..Love the rear view on these with the cut outs showing the tyros….Very mean rear end.....

The cheapest one is also very lovey in Olive green......

Nothing to do with height Mark. Her knees, hips, foot and everything else are fooked.
Hmm, it’s a long drift away from an Evora in terms of ethos (and double the money), but a 612 Scaglietti could be worth a try. It’s a big old thing but it really doesn’t drive like one - the engine is fairly far back behind the front wheels so it’s very nimble at the front. Pretty much like a big 4200; if anything the steering’s slightly sharper, especially on the later models (they are a lot more money though).
However what might help your good lady is that it’s very spacious inside, and it’s very easy to get in and out of. From what I remember the seat height is fairy high, rather than it being low slung, so it’s easy to get into. Something’s saying double-hinged doors in my brain but it’s been a while since I’ve had to think about it. They’re rather more than £30k and perhaps not the prettiest Ferrari ever made, but they do the human swallowing very well, and they handle far better than you’d ever imagine.

So the 612 is about £20k less than a 599 (in round numbers), but the FF is getting very tempting.
I would like a Ferrari, but almost spoilt for choice. There's something appealing about a 360 manual, but then the 599 has a pretty special engine, and I love the capability, quirkiness and relative rarity of the FF.
I almost have no criteria, just experience and usability.
Any tips (budget of about £80k)?

If you don’t need the rear seats, I’d go for the 599.
I think the FF looks foul so I’m not a big fan! Neither were Ferrari themselves according to a snippet in this video from Harris about the GTC4 Lusso.

I don't especially need rear seats, unless for occasional day trips when I take my mum out. The GTS is a pretty nice car for that, and more special than my old E46 M3.

This was his own car as saw him in it around Chepstow. Spoke to him if the petrol station one day and he loved it.

Yes. With cream interior and piano black dash trim.
Here she is with my other Masers:

Thanks for coming back. I happened to stumble upon one of your posts and you mentioned area and Emblem Motorsport so I thought you may be the previous owner of my QP. I recognise the reg in your pics from my records. Here's a couple of pic of what she looks like now. I love your other Masers BTW.

She looks great - and still has the Tubi Style back boxes, which as you know, sound awesome!

I bought the car from another client of Emblem, who was relocating to Eastern Europe (working on pipeline security projects). Had it a year or so, from memory, and used it as my daily. But then swapped it for a GTS version from another Emblem client.

I sold it to chap from Scotland, who worked in the oil industry in Aberdeen.

Here’s another pic of her from my ownership70692

A nice car but a good few neglected dogs around too so you need to be careful.
We need @MAF260 to give us an update on how he's getting on with his.
Certainly an impressive place to be with a drive to match when I drove one.

In short, Phil - it's outstanding and I absolutely love it! It's immensely fast (758bhp and 996nm), comfortable, luxurious, beautifully made, quiet(!), sporty, handles well, stops exceptionally well due to the carbon ceramic brakes and has an enormous boot. I have a Supersports which is quite a different beast to 'regular' Contis and Speed editions - a decent Supersports is way outside the budget being discussed here.
