I’m with Dicky on this one. The Vantage 4.3 always felt underpowered to me, and certainly not as sporty or quick as a GS. Hence having owned several Masers and no Astons. But give it another few years and I may well end up in an AM of some sort as they certainly look the part.
Hi Ewan, did you happen to own a 2006 black Quattroporte some time ago?

Yes I am a fan, flawed yes but I just love driving it, gets way more attention than much more expensive metal. Definite hand-full on uk roads, has some Alfa works bits fitted so better now but still ‘lively’ on poor roads...or good ones for that matter. They extracted some more horses too
I would think if the drop below 30k they would be a good buy as a toy.
Insurance is £240 fully comp.
It’s a keeper for me, but needs a more practical stable mate....waiting for the QF to drop below 30!....quite a way
I’ve been at Jamie’s a fair bit recently and what they do at Alfaworks looks mightily impressive; still haven’t driven one.
450 brake in a 4C would be quite a package.
Two thirds of an MC20 for probably half the price...

Don't go there mate.. If you want reasonably priced hooligan machine look no farther than one of our own..

A nice old Maser 3200GT.. It'll scare you shitless and you'll never ever by able to drive it as fast as it'll go!
Perfect..

The 4C was a joy to be in as a passenger for the Le Mans trip.

It may be flawed but isnt every car in some way. Do they need a little fettling to get the best out of them ? Sure but most Alfas do.

The 4C offers smiles per mile and a viable car that you can use in the week and drive to a track at week ends.

In a 5 car reasonable money virtual garage then i think the 4C would be in there.

Fabulous experience @ Le mans crofty. Thanks again.

I’ve driven a few and I have to say I preferred the Shamal. The 3200 is great for all the reasons you mentioned, but the Shamal feels all that more raw; partly because it’s not as well built as the 3200 (and I say that as a Shamal lover), and partly because it’s so much lighter. I also prefer the steering; neither is blessed with immersive steering feel (both are GTs, that’s not the point), but I prefer the old-school heaviness of the Shamal to the lightness of the 3200.
I also prefer the way the Shamal looks. The first time I drove a 3200 in the damp will forever stick with me though; the test car’s Sport mode lettering had worn off so when I returned from the brief test run impressed, the owner had to point out where it was, and said I ought to give it some stick. I then pulled away on the damp circuit with the same thump as I’d tried in normal mode. Cue the rear end deciding to do the lambada as Pink Floyd appeared on the dash mount TV. ‘You could have told me it was going to do that,’ I said, after a brief pause and much seat squab chewing on my behalf...
I was a bit smitten with it after that. I think I did about three/four laps in the other cars there. Ended up doing about 12 in the 3200.
Five years ago now, my first big feature for MC. Now it’s all over. Oh well.

I do like the look of the 4C. Never had the pleasure.

How about one of these then?
A pure driving experience like no other. Not for the faint hearted and rarer than possibly anything else mentioned here. Bikers will love it.....and you’ll already have all the necessary gear.

Supercharged aren’t much above 30 two.

(Nissan Gt R’s are now sub 30 as well. Monstrous performance)

Agreed on both counts. I was hoping for another GTS.

However, that's all gone tits up today!

I guess this is all part of my learning curve with the new stuff I'm doing.
One minute you can be 24 hours from getting paid a stack of cash, the next, nowt!

Back to the drawing board....
Chin up, next time will be different.

OK, well above £30k... but what a sleeper!

That would be epic!

Although I still think the ultimate is a 599 V12 in a GTS. Apparently it could be made to fit.
If my lottery numbers come up, I'll make it happen!

As above the 4C is so close but just miss the point, Alfa Workshop tweaks can make it much better but for half the price you can have a Cayman S which in nearly all cases will perform better
Totally agree Zag................But looks wise the 4C wipes the floor with the Cayman!

That does look very nice indeed and far nicer than the red XR3i that was giving you a böner earlier mate.
I had one of them when they came out. Went round the back of the OPC and they had four to choose from - in and out in no time. That was the mistake as I got sports seats and they were bloody narrow in the back.

Strange aux air intake on the 4C.
