Well noted on here a few years ago when I got messed around selling my first 4200 by a Dentist who turned up in a Subaru Impreza and was obnoxious and then got in touch with Conareo to vent his thoughts.
I sold the car unseen to a chap on a Saturday night who was in a nightclub celebrating his wife's birthday.
Transferred the money there.

Thanks for that John. Just getting the VIN to check. I understood Jet Black to always be a flat/solid shiny non-metallic black on any cars. I read that bit above on a forum as well. However have seen some later Aston ads described as Jet Black metallic so all a bit confusing and non-conclusive at the moment.

The seller definitely said it has fleck in it and pings in the sunlight. Maybe he has the colour name wrong. Definitely looks metallic to me but I'm over 4 hours away so can;t really see until I see it.

Looks like Onyx to me. You can change the rear lights to clear fairly easily, about £700 from memory, and I think they work well with dark colours.

Good spot....thanks ;)

Just ran a VIN decoder on AM's technical site and it is indeed Onyx Black. Glad about that so still possible deal on. If it were flat/solid Jet Black I think that would have been a deal breaker for me.

Later rear lights definitely look nicer:

Before AndyK jumps in, still one of the best looking coupes out there, if only it wasn't for VRT

Sorry but what's VRT as I'm not down with the kids ?

Vehicle Registration Tax - It's the Irish way of stopping the residents buying cars in other EU countries for significantly less money. It is not a purchase tax as that would be against EU rules but it does need to be paid for any car under 30 years being brought into the country. It's basically a percentage of the cars value, as calculated by the revenue, that needs to be paid - engine size, emissions and the revenue own judgement drive the amount. The RR was €8300 but fortunately you can personal import one car in 5 years if you have owned it for 6 months or more and don't sell it for 12 months here.

Dick Turpin and Black Bess still ride here

I would also spend £700 on after market sills (£400 parts and £300 spray). They change the car’s look

Clear lenses were fitted as standard to later cars. I think it makes the car look fresher and you can recoup some costs with the old lenses.
Black or white is a pain to keep clean but it looks stunning when it is clean.

David Appleby I see is advertising a secondary decat for the V8. Just saying. lol!
Seem to remember someone advertising straight through rear box for about £400 but you lose the valves then and it may be too noisy.
You can pull the fuse to leave the valves on the standard box open but you can also buy a bespoke kit for about £70 which is a remote to open and close when you want. I got one and worth every penny. I know the tech gurus on here can do one for a tenner but I have no electrical skills. Standard valves open and close, from memory about 3500-4000rpm depending whether in sport mode or not. Trouble is at 4k you are not hanging around in anything over second gear.
I reckon a secondary decat and switch is perfect for the Vantage.
Great spending someone else's cash.
Waiting for the grammar police to pounce on a stray apostrophe. ;-)

If the sound is the same than removing the fuse 22, why would anyone spend £500 + fit when removing the fuse is free, reversible and takes 10min??
I call that bad marketing :)
I thought exactly the same! I've no issue pulling a fuse but the remote option seems like a good idea so you can have a quieter option when required.
