Unfortunately he dropped his phone in a pond so couldn't contact me.

I could send you over a couple of mine if you like

I had one guy agree an offer without even having seen it we went bk n forth and eventually settled then he said 'give me your bank details and ill put a deposit in and pick it up'

I said don't worry about it just come down and see the car, he agreed.

...day before I asked if he was still comming down and he said 'No you didn't seem keen so I went and looked at another, same ish spec and im going to buy it"

Found the add for the one he was looking at, rang them up and sure enough they said somone came and picked it up yesterday :/

Thanks all. I'll keep you posted as to how it goes.

I have to believe the story of phone in pond. I've heard plenty of interesting tales in my time. Not that one. Nobody died or was harmed and I had to make a call. I believe the right one and dealt with the whole situation all involved as best as possible I think.

As I've learnt....and have learnt....after my losing out on the Chimaera 450 Turbo debacle....that some times things do happen for a reason. One door closes another one opens. Maybe that has all just happened.

I'm glad as well as the new 4200 owner is perfect for a 4200. Lovely guy and sees and appreciates what many people seem to have missed and are still missing.

I've learnt not to do a deal on a Saturday night. Just been out in the garden for 5 mins to stare at the clear skies above with zillions of amazing stars.

I don't say this often as am not a happy smilley chap most of the time but for various reasons it has been a great weekend. No I have not been drinking

This was who I bought from. Took me 5 minutes to fit. Having done one I could do it in less than half the time now.
He has various options for different models. He is an Am owner and club member. Spoke to him on the phone and real nice genuine guy and stuff is first class quality

Brilliant news Dean....a The great thing about the 4.3 is it's easy to tune and get more power and noise out of it....David Appelby and obviously Bamford Rose are both well respected and have some great upgrades including the clear lights. AHM also do the same sort of upgrades as well.

Also agree on the clear light...Look great especially on a black car. They will set you back £1385.

Oh, well done, Dean! Good choice. You'll enjoy that. Regarding:

Exhaust. I use the same ccharger thingy for the switchable valves. It works a treat. I got the one that remembers its last setting each time you start the car. Bamford Rose whipped off my secondary cats and replaced them with some straight pipes. Sounds good, in my humble. Mrs Crud thinks it's too noisy but prefers it over the sound of our loaner AMG-powered 4.0 TT Vantage. Anyhoo, you're in an N/A V8 so have plenty of options. Start with the valve switch wotsit and progress through cats. I went straight for the jugular and had the cats whipped out before I got home after I collected it. You can easily straight-through the back boxes, if your inner hooligan fancies it.

Size. Yes, small. And the better for it! Marginally bigger than your TVR, do you think?

Again, well done on the sale and well done on the Aston.

Thanks Andy. I'll not count my chickens yet but hopefully in a few days it will be done.

I've seen an AM dealer that has stock on the new lights at £1k for the pair which seems pretty good.

I'll leave any mods until I see how the stock car is. I'm hoping and expecting a stock car to be fine but we shall see.

Thanks Adam. Good to know what you did on yours and it does sound epic....it is a V12 remember though!

I agree that I'll get the remote set as that is na simple decision. The exhaust changes need to be right as Jon is going through. I've got the 4200 one wrong as too loud I think. Might need back boxes back on that possibly with secondary decat left in place but insulated xpipe.

Yes the TVR is a fair bit smaller but I guess the Vantage is a smidge smaller than a 4200 but not much. Great size I think.
