So you've had the Android/Apple Car upgrade done; how would you add Dab+ Radio to the setup?

So I've added the infotainment upgrade to the Granturismo and I'm wondering how to put the cherry on the cake by adding Dab+ radio ( my favourite station is Absolute '80s, not only for the music but also for the Station idents, some of which are so funny they really are in league of their own!).
As a not-terribly-technical chap, I defer to the more up to date chaps who know their Bluetooth from their Android; what's the best way to achieve Dab+?
Many thanks in advance!

Absolute 80’s you say?
apologies, I don’t know.
can’t you just find it on your iPhone and transfer to CarPlay?

If that's how the happening kids are doing it these days, then I'm all for it!! I just assumed I needed an additional bit of kit to make it happen;) I do actually have a smart phone ( I phone 7 ish?) but only because a good friend gave it to me!! I've been dragged into the 21st century...!

If your smart phone is android, once connected to your new infotainment system it will open android auto. Then you will be able to use your radio streaming app of choice. I use 'tune in'.

You can then simply press the buttons on your new touch screen to select what you want
Or if you want to do it hands free.... simply say/shout "Hey Google"... "listen to absolute 80's on tune in" and het presto!

Welcome to the 21st century

And since you have an iPhone, the same applies to Apple play. Get someone in the know to show you, it’s very easy.

Although shouting 'Hey Google' is less likely to work than 'Hey Siri' (which also won't work unless it's turned on) ;)

Although I’m quite proficient tech wise, I don’t really use Siri - it’s more of an irritant in fact, somehow it feels obnoxious to be talking out loud to my phone, it’s nearly as if I can’t be bothered to do it myself..

I don't use Siri much, although when it's on Car Play it's kind of useful. I've integrated so much of our house into Alexa that when I can't say 'Alexa do something* I find it annoying

Yes I can imagine with Car Play it can work - I might look into getting the SI kit and trying it out on the QP. I’ve had voice control on my BM’s for more than 10 years - please tell me it’s better than that sh/t show.

No idea. I ran the system that has since become Siri many years back, and even then it was pretty good. It's what the coders do with the commands, though. I only tend to use it when I get messages through and to dictate responses if needed. Never really tell it to do anything.
Used to do the voice control in the Jaaaaaaaag and the GT. The Continental doesn't have it. (I suspect due to the head replacement)

Last week I was behind an F-type with numberplate Jaaag WP (Western Cape Province suffix) - had a chuckle

I’ve just checked, both TuneIn and Radioplayer play Absolute 80’s and are CarPlay apps so download them on your phone and they’ll be visible on your CarPlay infotainment to stream through.

No more difficult than that

What a superb Forum this is! Thank you Gentlemen all - exactly the information I was after; you've made my day!! The Granturismo arrives on Tuesday, so I am fighting to keep my composure ( I keep giggling and making high revving engine noises) - mustn't jinx it!
Yours, from the funny farm ! Vrrooom Vrooooooooom!

Seems I did indeed jinx it, since I am still deficient to the tune of one Maserati Granturismo; it's in bits, which is a touch ironic since the specialist who's sorting the few squarks the car had, is also in bits, suffering with the flu. He is trying to get it finished for next weekend. I am trying to be patient. Not a quality I am often accused of, if I'm honest.
Will update with more news, when there is some.

I'm very pleased to be able to report that I,er I mean We are now Maserati Granturismo owners and I had a VERY good drive from Watford back to Somerset today; people do move over for a Maserati !!! ( in a way they just won't for an Alfa Romeo!!! Philistines!!!)
I was happy I managed to get the alignment so right; the steering is just pin sharp and gives me total confidence in the handling - loved the performance and the noise ( after mostly driving turbo diesels for nearly fifteen years), can't wait for the Uruto intake upgrades ( arrived today) and the x pipe/ Larini sports Cats ( two weeks) to really unleash the beast under the bonnet. Oh wow, I just realized I never thought to use the sports button!! It was DEFINITELY worth waiting for! Everything I hoped it would be....And more ( never even used the upgraded infotainment system!!!) I am so smitten....

Great work. Always a great day is collection day. The x and cats will make it sound epic. Especially when you remember the sport button. :p

How do you get Radio UK to STOP steaming??? I can 'pause' the radio, but I find the only way to make it go away completely is to go into settings and 'Force Stop' the application. Otherwise it is always there, ready to blast out the radio at any moment!
