Hi all

As some of you may or may not have seen my post a couple of weeks ago- I had put down a deposit on an Aston Martin Vantage S. For one reason or another nothing seemed to be going my way and the sale was just not happening.

Everything was sorted last night and I planned on finalising the sale today but something told me to have a final look online to see what else I could have.

This is a sneak peek of what should be mine tomorrow- FML...

Well done... that’s lovely, and (IMHO) much nicer, classier, and more interesting than yet another James Bond wannabe wagon...

Hi all and thanks for the messages!

I went and had a drive today- the car looked even more beautiful outside in the sunshine.

Few things of note:

The owner told me that it was involved in a collision to the rear left side of the car and it has all been fixed. The car is priced based on this but it pulls to the right when I let go of the steering. There aren't any rattles and there isn't any play with the suspension. I drove it over pot holes etc. and all seems fine. Where do you think I should go from there in terms of resolving the issue?

Both reverse lights do not work when I put the car into reverse- break lights, indicators, parking sensors are all functioning as normal. Again do you think that this would be a problem with the actual lights or would it be a simple wiring issue/ bulb issue. I wouldn't have thought that both reverse lights would have stopped working as it is a 2016 car with 15 k miles.

The exhaust does not crack and pop when I let go of the throttle like my 2009 MC-Shift did. This has the auto gearbox and I also don't recall the center screen turning to MC Mode when I put it in sports mode, although the exhaust baffles did open.

Other than that- the exterior/ interior condition is perfect, no lights on the dash, engine seems perfect, no vibrations/ roughness.

Let me have your thoughts please- would like to put down a deposit within the next couple of hours!

The alignment could be a negotiation. Make the purchase contingent to getting an alignment to stop the pulling to the right.
Reverse lights could be bulbs?
Gurgles and pops could be you might not have had it in manual AND Sport mode at same time? If so did you drive it "spirited" to get those noises?

Mine is ALSO a 2016 - ask seller what the "official" color is....would be likely Rosso Magma or Rosso Trionfale or Rosso Italiano or Rosso Mondiale

Cheers Tas- the colour is a Rosso Mondiale- same exact colour scheme (exterior and interior) as the Gransport I used to have.

I had the car in manual and in sport.

I've put the deposit down and hopefully will not be losing this one this time ! :eek:

Will keep you all updated.

With that many questionables, I would advise getting a pre purchase inspection done.
Could be as simple as wheel alignment and bulb replacement.... Or could be that something is still bent and the wiring is damaged.
Where are you and the car located? We could recommend someone.

The reverse lights are in the boot lid, so the flexible wiring to the boot could have been damaged with the impact. The rest of the lighting clusters are separate.

Regarding the noise - I have a late 2013 MC-shift, and even that doesn't sound as characterful as my 2011 MC-shift did, so I doubt the auto will be anywhere near as good as your last one.
Also, I'm pretty sure your dash won't display MC mode, as it is not an MC car.

Mine is also 2016 Rosso Mondiale - so we ARE TRULY COUSINS!!! Once you close on it, let's compare VIN # to see who is OLDER

Thanks! I have decided to go for it and put down a deposit to reserve it and it should be home with me by Monday.

The car was a steal in terms of pricing and it would be near impossible to find a Rosso Mondiale with the carbon extras.

Im currently working and living in Kuwait and will hopefully be taking it back with me to rainy Manchester by next summer.

Haha glad that I’ve got family all over the world :D I’ve closed on it and will let you have the VIN once it’s with me. One thing I noticed about 2016+ cars in Kuwait is that all the Sports models came with hoods with vents that I don’t recall seeing back in the UK. Was that an option?
