My sources in the new car section of the office says we should have firm news on the Alfieri soon.
Said Source - a veteran of many a Maserati press launch - also says the Italian PR team admit they only plan 50 per cent of any event and leave the rest up to chance. Hm

Bad news for Modena... when the GT really stops they will just have the four station 4c line wirking.

In a lot of cases with FCA factories, the unions get wind of closures long before they happen (maybe something in Italian labour laws?). Anyway, Ive seen nothing about the Modena factory closing so I am fairly certain they will be re tooling. For what, June 1 will tell us...

I think that is good analysis. The only thing that occurred to me is that they could run Modena as a sort of special operations centre for bespoke versions of the Turin cars a bit like JLR with SVO. However, that's probably a bit far fetched so the announcement of a new coupe/convertible seems more likely.

Cant see Modena closing either, its their last bastion for Maserati and their head office too.

Its good for Maserati to be based in 'Motor Valley'. It gives a link to the past and to the other performance car brands based there.

The point about the Italian unions is a good one. They are well informed and very militant when it comes to plant closures. I expect Modena to continue to produce the lower volume cars.

Less than a month to the reveal of the 5 year plan. The brand is in a good place financially because of the cars that no one likes ;) I'm still hoping for something to stir the soul for when its time to replace mine.

In order to have a new Delta Integrale wouldn't they need a new Delta? The old one has gone. Perhaps there will be a new one to go alongside the new Alfa Giulietta? It would be good to see, but needs a huge pinch of salt.

Translated article...

The Maserati factory in Modena could in the future hold the first fully electric car of the car manufacturer of the Trident. The production could start already next year according to the latest rumors from the world of engines. In any case, the number one of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, the managing director Sergio Marchionne, will establish with certainty whether the Modena plant will actually welcome the new model. This vehicle will most likely be the production version of the Maserati Alfieri concept. The mayor of Modena also talked about the possibility that such a model will be produced in the same line in which the GranCabrio and the GranTurismo were produced in the past few years .

Maserati: the first Trident electric car could be produced in the Modena plant in the next few years

The production of the first electric car of Maserati in the Modena plant could represent, according to the same mayor of the capital of Emilia, an important innovation in terms of employment. In fact, thanks to this model in the future, the Modena Trident plant could reach full employment. The Modenese house of the rest, as mentioned several times in the past, should be the first of the Fiat Chrysler group to bring an all-electric car to market.

Here are the other news that could interest the Modena plant
More information on the timing and the arrival methods of such a model will almost certainly be specified by Sergio Marchionne on June 1st in Balocco. Recall that in Modena the production of Alfa Romeo 4C should also be confirmed for the next few years. In addition, according to rumors from Germany in the past few hours, a new limited edition version of the Lancia Delta Integrale HF could also be produced in the factory .

Previously Maserati body shells were made outside of Modena as are the engines and trim etc. Therefore the factory just assembled them there.

I may be simplifying this but any retooling would be just the gigs to assist in the handling and fitting of the pre made items... so how long would it take to fit those??? Couple of weeks as they would be made externally.

It just doesn't add up in my mind.

OK if they are going all Teslar that may influence things but again the power pack would be shiped in ready made.
