Hi
I'm looking for a small rubber belt type thingys with an inside diameter just under 7cm that has a reasonable width eg 1 - 1.5cm and of varying thicknesses 2, 4, 6 mm

It's to go round a camaera lens so it engages a plastic colar which is used to rotate the lens to allow it to zoom in and out inside an underwater camera housing

poor mans version of this

I've got a heath robinson prototype held together with rubber bands but wanted to see if I could find something neater

Thanks all for your suggestions. I think O rings won't work as they will roll when I insert the sleeve over the ring so it has to be flat like a wristband which are looking promising. I'm presuming the these wristbands are quite elastic and will stretch? Does anyone happen to have one? For the ones I'm looking (65mm radius) at they'l probably have to stretch about 20mm in circumference.

I've also caved and ordered the relevant bit or extortinate costs for a bit of pvc but hedging my bets in case it doesn't arrive in time or doesn't work (as it's just as heath robinson as I'd put together! - A sleeve with rubber blocks stuck to the inner surface!

I have a couple, they are generally 120mm diameter, so that will probably work.

Why not try two part silicon moulding compound? Ok it is really meant for making cake moulds and the like but you can model it to the exact size you want and you will end up with a durable silicone band.

We use these for our Access Control systems and I personally use these all the time as it is the key to my house ;)
SALTO Mifare Silicone Key Fob Wrist Bracelet

Measures about 220mm long and diameter of circa 60mm. They stretch quite a bit to about 50mm more and are very strong and last for ages. Various colours and if you buy one of our Access Control systems you can throw away conventional keys as well ;)

Totally not what they are designed for but just throwing it into the pot!

These will be the same or similar to Zeps festival style bands. They are pretty tough and durable also stretching quite a bit. A bit like a stronger and slightly less elastic band.
