Is there any way to have a harness shipped to the US? The link on the website provides for shipment only to the UK.

I will look into shipping to the US. To save in costs, is there any way I can get a show of hands for US orders?
__

Next question re newer QP install. Got the touch screen installed, ran the mic, starting to sort out the rest: there does not appear to be space enough behind the glove box for either module. Any other recs for placement short of in the glove box?

The QP is different to the GT in terms of space. It's tight but, behind the head unit there's a metal bracket and behind it there's enough room for both modules.

Hi Paul - I’m hoping that you are still fitting mine this Friday down in Portsmouth. Can I order one of these please and settle up on the day ?
Thanks
Ian
I do have it in the diary, just need to plan my travel down. Friday morning traffic won't be my friend...

The instruction booklet shows 5 connections to be made:

The harness pictured has 5 wires but one of them is black marked ground. Are there actually 6 connections to be made or is the black wire to be used for the additional red?

Is there plenty of room behind the MM unit for the harness?
The Black wire is for the two negative/ground connections needed for the interfaces. The two red connections will go to the single red cable on the harness.

Hi Paul - Who would of thought all this would have followed that first install in my QP! Hope we keep you busy!
Definitely agree & most of this thanks to you starting a trend! Unfortunately, there just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day lately...

I'm traveling to London/Salisbury next week for work and I'm planning to drive up to your place of business after I arrive on Tuesday morning. No shipping required!

Just wait - you'll be inundated with importation requests now
I believe SM membership requirements are such that no reasonable request can be refused.
Is that right?

Hi, is there a new order going to be placed? My Gt S doesn’t have any Usb or Bluetooth installed. It’s the super basic audio system. Will this work anyway? Thanks

As long as it has the headphone jack in the glovebox then yes.

I am just waiting for the current installs to be half finished to highlight any issues which there have not been.

No, there’s nothing in the glovebox but a black
cover. :(

Thats really odd. You will need to contact Paul at Prestige, I am sure there is a simple way to get round it, the glovebox thing is only an extension into the head unit. You do have the standard uint yes and not the BOSE head unit?

You will simply require a longer cable to go into the back of the head unit, maybe an optical plug at the other end rather then a 3.5mm jack.

Yes I do have the standard unit. I also would like to upgrade the audio to the Bose system in the future. Is not the head unit the same for both systems? I think it’s just a matter of amplifiers and speakers, or not? Is it plenty of full Bose speakers and amplifiers sets used on sale on eBay.

Almost have it all sorted and should have quite a few tips/pics for diyers on the QP. One question though. I’ve got android up and running well but when I try to switch to CarPlay (I’m an apple guy) I get the message “the box version does not match”

Any suggestions

On the front of the dongle box there is instruction to install an app called AutoKit with a link. You will need to connect the box to your WiFi and go to the url via chrome browser then your done.

The first dongles didn’t require it hence why it is not in your instruction booklet.

Thanks, a few minutes after posting that i figured it out. Got it all installed/running except running the camera/drilling the trunk:

Advice for the QP
Hardly any trim removal needed:
remove the cup holder area as documented (4 bolts)
Block the wheels and put the shift into manual mode (as far back as it will go
Lift the cup holder console up and away (cant fully remove due to the shifter) to access the 2 bottom bolts holding the stereo fascia in place
Use a trim tool to remove the top vents/clock to reveal the other 2 bolts.
With those off, you can fully remove all cables (take lots of pics) and take the whole stereo fascia off with the screen, stereo,AC controls attached.
There are 6 silver bolts (3/side) that hold the stereo/screen carrier to the front fascia. Once removed, you can access the bolts that hold the screen on and proceed just like the original instructions.
For the glove box, no removal needed. There are 2 tabs on the inside top that you can compress to allow the box to drop below it's normal travel. This allow you to access an opening in the top of the surround to run the RCA/Aux cable through to behind the stereo.
No drilling needed for the glove box.
All of the components can tuck nicely behind the metal support behind the stereo.
Run your iphone cable where ever you want, i ran the mic lateral and tucked into the leather trim around the steering column (cant see it unless you know what your looking for, right by the existing cabin microphone by the dash light dimmer/mode button panel)
FYI, the sound on mine SUCKED. found out it was the RCA/aux cable. I replaced it and now sounds great.
Lots of parts not needed for the install which can be confusing. I'll take a pic of the not needed stuff so its easier to sort out/plan your attack.
I took my time but could easily be done in 4-6h as a first timer
Tapping into the 4 wires was not difficult, even with in-line soldering.

I do wish that it was wireless carplay. For some reason in my mind i thought it was and mentioned the cable was only needed for initial setup.

oh, one other hiccup. As you will need to have the battery connected/keys on to open the glove box after each close, as well as put the car in gear to free up space to maneuver the console WATCH OUT. as the boxes are grounded together but not to a common ground (to prevent ground loop hum i assume), before you have the big plug back in the back of the maserati head unit, it will be ungrounded however the wires and cases of the boxes will spark against any frame metal they touch. Had to run back and forth several times disconnecting/reconnecting the battery

The battery drain if you use say use Waze and Spotify on a trip is pretty significant - so you would probably want it on charge anyway...I have wireless car play in my BMW and that is less reliable than when I have the iPhone plugged in and in the armrest of the Maser...

If the boxes’ grounds are connected to each other but not to a common ground, how are they grounded?

The harness offered by @Prestige has a ground connection for the interfaces, but the instructions suggest that these not be connected.

Through the head unit. You can ground the three black wires but I got interference. Simply join them all, then it all works interference free.

Maybe I’m missing something obvious but when you say through the head unit I assume you mean the drive unit with the 16-pin block connector.

According to the pin-out drawing pin 16 is the “main ground” and pin 15 is the “ground of screen power supply” but no connection is shown to those.

Similarly the rear camera shows no ground connection.

I can only presume from this that the LVDS connections provide a common ground to the PAS-T unit, Android box and rear camera.
