My heart stopped for a few seconds when I read your post regarding the BOSE unit. My 2013 GT has BOSE speakers but the standard head unit, so I'm OK...correct?
Chill.....yes you are

So there is no confusion, here are the head units for GT and QP that this item fits:

Hi Matt - can you add me to the list please ? I will need to see if Paul will travel to the West Country to install it though as I know my levels of patience would be very quickly tested trying to do this myself...

Might be cheaper to drive up - leave the car with him and have a day in London...

That's a pity. There must be loads of us out there with pre-facelift cars fitted with the Blaupunkt screen who would have love to up-date to this excellent system. Maybe Naviplus will be able to devise one to fit the older screens.

Perhaps the solution for those with Bose is to retrofit the system with the seperate screen, if that’s possible....

Confirmed, this unit does not have the LDVS (video) lines in and out between the box and the screen as its one unit. Sorry.
Regretfully i’ll have to come off the list cos I’m not driving an automatic, I’m not driving an automatic, I’m not driving an automatic...

Can you clarify a few points please?

Is the touch screen capacitive or resistive?

Can the factory Bluetooth microphone be used?

What happens when a phone call is received? Does it behave differently when in CarPlay and non-CarPlay mode?

Can a front camera be added that shows on the display when the parking sensor button is pressed? This would allow both front and rear to be functioning during parking.

Do the camera grid lines work?

Is drilling required to attach the camera(s)?

Devonboy, could you help out here?

The touchscreen is capacitive, yes you have to drill a hole for the rear camera cable. You might be able to feed it in via the numberplate light if your concerned. Front camera can be added yes but I don’t know if you can activate it with the front sensors. When reverse is engaged, the camera cuts in. Camera grid lines work, what do you mean? They are fixed and don’t bend with the steering input. Factor mic is wired not Bluetooth as far as I was aware. There is no reason with some effort why you can’t wire to it.

I’m assuming all the GranTurismos work the same way? Mine’s a 67 plate GranTurismo Sport.

Currently my iPhone connects via Bluetooth to the factory unit, when making or receiving a phone call the sound comes from the speakers and the factory microphone is used to transmit my voice. Does any of that change after installing the new kit?

Have you installed a second microphone, and if so, where?

I’ve installed a second mic yes st the top of the drivers A pillar. I’ve removed my Bluetooth/audio aftermarket thingy.

As long as your drive unit is the same as the first post on this page you will be ok.

A generic requirement for a car camera to activate is the software needs to detect a reverse signal. Whether facing reverse/front/up/down or otherwise. As per post #31 you can use a "double diode isolation" method as a work around. You could possibly use the front parking sensor switch for this purpose. Emphasis on the possibly. I haven't tried using a switch tasked to another function but if you think of a DDI as a one way gate I don't think there would be any issue.

So the sound will still come out of the factory speakers as, if you are in CP mode all sound comes out of the aux channel.

As for input, I have never checked! On my set up (QP V 4.7) I know I use the car Bluetooth (as I have Bluetooth turned off in the CP) and I believe that will automatically use the car mike for calls.....this leaves the CP Mike for SIRI

There is no difference when a phone call is received as I use the car Bluetooth to connect the phone and factory mike. So when the call is received via your phone - it’s mirrored in car play and when answered the BLuetooth kicks in - so in essence the only difference is that you can get a nice picture of the caller on your CP display and use the touch screen to answer. The only other point is that you can still use the phone pick up button on the steering wheel - but if you press it too long - it will switch from CP to Maserati system....
