Sky Glass - any experience?

I have a problem with the signal to my sky box. My neighbours have a silver birch tree which, when the wind blows, interferes with the signal to my dish. Usually when the F1 is on.

I could have the dish moved for a couple of hundred quid, but Sky have another option, Sky Glass, which is a bit cheaper than I am paying right now.

Has anyone got it, is it any good? Are there any limitations compared to a Sky Q box?

Keep in mind that Sky will soon be releasing a small box that will plug into any TV and will deliver all the same stuff that Sky Glass does, just without needing to buy a new telly through Sky.

Ah. I thought you might know :D

If it is in the next week or so that would be cracking. Although my current telly is knocking on a bit, isn’t smart or any of that stuff.

Our satellite signal is more reliable than our internet. So no way I’d switch to a streamed only service.

There are that many options for streamed TV why tie yourself to one for £££ a month

To be honest, I know about some of the cheap streamed options, but the ones I know of don’t allow me to record and watch later and are glitchy as ****. If there are others, do suggest them.

You have the exact opposite of my situation. Bloody tree. Perhaps what I need is a chainsaw and a balaclava.

I have one you can borrow. You will have to get someone to knit you a balaclava though.

Sadly my house is in a cable black hole. Plus Cityfibre recently did their FTTX thing in my village and went straight past my bit without stopping.
Sounds like you need a drum of cable, a jcb and some lunatics who are not quite sober.

Later in the summer, from memory.

I just added NowTV to my new Google TV. All sky sports, no stuttering yet. It’s on half price for the first three months if that fails a forum member gave me one of their SkyGo logins so I have laptop backup ;)

I had NowTv on a half price deal. When it comes to an end of the discount period, unsubscribe. They will offer you another 3 months at half price again.

Just like anything new, just wait…..
They are making something that just plugs into current TV and you won’t need new TV as result

My satellite signal is better than the internet so I shall be sticking to Q a little longer
