Norman,
That's a real shame, let's hope the repair is excellent and she comes out gleaming..!!
Cheers

My little lad is 8, so maybe I can take him round - he would love it as the only word he can say is CAR :)

Just tried out my GoPro bought specifically for the lap and Italy.

Rather jolly good :)

C

im borrowing one for the 2 events, pic quality was very surprising when switching between very bright and very low light shaded areas.

not had any issues with lockups but understand this down to low spec SDs

C do you find the front part gets very hot, ive done some searching and seems to be a known feature...

Exactly, C. I'd *like* a GoPro but for the limited use it would get I certainly can't justify a few hundred £ on a brand-new all signing all-dancing one. I need to do some more research to find out what the differences are and have a poke round on FleaBay and similar.

Excellent news!

Im looking at gopro, drift ghost s and a normal video recorder. gopro fav but concern on this heat, drift S screen is on the side and normal recorder very big

interested to see what you get ?

"Something second hand" is probably the answer. The Black Edition offers 4k but as I don't have a 4k TV (and they in any case only make sense >80" in most domestic setups so there's no 'future-proof' argument to the man-maths) that isn't much use. The auto low-light could be good but not worth another £80 over the Silver edition. I'll go and have scratch round eBay and similar, see what's around.

I bought a sony HDR 30asv with some discount thing through amazon. £100. Brilliant, really easy to use and can run/manage it from iPhone or iPad which my son has on his lap with camera stuck to any part of the car. Real time image of what your recording. Tons of memory. It'll be strapped on the back for next weekend.

No, I didn't notice that at all. Having said that, of course, I wasn't actually checking. I just unmounted it and lobbed it in the boot.

I have 32G Sandisk Class10 which cost <£15 if I recall.

I now want another mount, so I can take it on my microlight flight :D

I'm going to try 2, a video HD cam on the top of the screen and a discreet HD bumper level on the rear, or should I mount that on the rear screen..??

Are there many of you there on Friday....I'm at the Pro drive test track on Friday morning and then heading to London for a long weekend around lunch time with the family but of there were a few at Silverstone and may try and persuade the family we should pop in...

I have a GoPro which I attach to a GoPro headband. It looks very nerdish having a camera on my forehead but it captures everything I'm looking at. Brilliant fun with some hilarious results at times. Amazing camera.

I think I can cope with looking like an idiot more than normal for 30 minutes of semi powered flight :)
