Planning on using my trickle charger (not CTEK), do I need to ‘lock’ car via remote fob when hooked up? Or will car not activate central locking as boot will be ajar?

Use a thin cable and close the boot. Central locking won't work, from memory, no

Close my boot without issue and always leave it unlocked anyway. Just in case there was a battery failure.

The mechanical boot opening using key inserted in lock works even with flat battery. On my car at least :(

When is a boot not a boot, when it’s ajar! Anyway, the boot seal will adapt and absorb the cable, unless it’s very thick. Just try gently pushing it closed.

Yeah I guess not too much of an issue but as it is in the alarmed and cctv garage I wasn't too worried about locking it.

Maybe I’m doing something wrong, but I just connect the Ctek, leave the boot open and lock the car on the fob.

LED on the door flashes a bit excitably for a while, and then settles back to normal rhythm. The boot light goes off after a couple of minutes.

Been doing it like this for years
