Should I be worried?

My quote was £3k which felt right for a decent warranty that would pay out - but I self insured and only spent 2k last year...those fecking gaskets made of cheese

No disrespect to Scott, but i would be sending an email to direct to Maserati, what have you to lose, apart from a few thousand if you dont.
This worked for me when they dug their heels in with Maserati and also Renault. I cant fault Porsche with my warranty, in fact when i wrote my Mr Angry email to each i quoted Porsche in both caess as an example of what I expected.

Will certainly consider. Any idea of cost?
Warranty wise will come in around £1500 per annum. Replacing the cam gaskets will most probably be not covered. Warranty wise is not all it is cracked up to be!
The cam cover seals will fail, it can be argued that they have failed hence the oil misting. Both cams will set you back £1500 to £2k - it is quite labour intensive with the scuttle panel removal etc.

"I'd also asked them to check a rattle coming from the back end (only noticable over bumps) which, having read a post on here, I thought might be a heat shield coming loose. Apparently these are all ok and they think this may be exhaust valve flaps."

Have you had confirmation of what is causing the "rattle" when you go over bumps? Fine if you definitely know what it is, but I would get proper confirmation before your warranty expire. It could be rather costly if it turns out to e anti roll bar bushes!

Pretty sure they paid for mine. Really CBA to go look. I made money on them for two years. <shrug>

The rattle is still being investigated. They have compared with another car of the same model and were "unable to fault " at that stage as they both appeared to be the same. Maybe they do sound like that as I've only ever driven this one and cannot compare. They are looking again and I will query bushes being a possibility when I speak to them again tomorrow.
SJX This warranty is an RAC effort (I think, away from home at mo so can't check) that came with the car at purchase, not an extended Maserati one.

I'm just in the process of doing these chassis plates on mine. I'm assuming its the plates up front just behind the wheels, two small bolts and one big one? Does anyone know if there's a torque for that big bolt as it seemed to be fairly tight coming off?

Those are the kiddies. No torque setting as far as I’m aware - I just used some copper grease and did them up to what felt like about right. I also sloshed some under car protector stuff all over them - top and bottom - beforehand.

Thanks for the quick response, I'll get back too it then.
