Somebody tell me that I don't need a GoPro Hero7 Black. I'm entranced by those things, but would I ever actually use it? In fairness, I used my old Hero 5 quite a lot, until it fell in the sea and got washed away forever. For a shade over £300, is it really worth the cost and the clutter, though?

What shite have you all acquired that you never use, and what shite do you feel compelled to accumulate now?

I bought a GP then spent the same again on all the **** accessories. Probably spent £300.

It sits on my windscreen and have used it maybe 5 times in 5 years.

Problem is when your out in Le Mans or the like there is too much going one and you just can’t be arsed to set it all up.

Nope got one on my shelf I never use in its box. You either forget to turn then on or the battery is dead when you most want to use them. Faddy stuff, keep the memories in your brain....

I bought mine for the Centenary trip, used a few times since for meets and track days, but usually it sits in the case, and as Phil says, with a flat battery. Handy for when an occasion arises though.

OK.

You don’t need a GoPro Hero7 Black.

You want one.
You deserve one.
You should buy one.
Today - because they’re probably cheaper in Singapore or Kuala Lumpur.
Then - once you’ve used it twice and got bored with it, you can rent it out to other kind forum members...

Does that help?

I sit in my office amid mountains of detritus; I can count a couple of things that seemed important at the time but don’t get used any more. I’ll do my flies up and think about something else....

I have one. Use it a lot on the back of the boat when we’re out racing. Also great on holiday with the kids for those underwater shots. So yes, I think they are great and I get quite a lot of use from mine. I have a plan to mount it on the car at some point to get some ‘rorcky’ driving footage...
So yes, go for it. You know you want to !!

Can’t remember the last time I used my DVD or CD player, nor my nutrabullet or Effin useless “air Fryer” that is now sat next to my Breville sandwich toaster in the back of a cupboard.

Many years ago I bought a Braun hairdryer and then promptly went bald so that was annoying....as a loyal customer though I then tried using a Braun razor (great ads featuring fast cars) around that time too but just got a nasty rash so that got binned.....the “foil” was ****.

On the upside I bought one of these gadgets and it’s brilliant.....best £12 I ever spent....now I get about 3.5 months out of each Gillette blade.....I recommend as razor blades are mental expensive and this pays for itself easily.

The thing is, as with most boys toys, the fun is in the chase. Once you've pulled the trigger and done the acquisition and actually start using these gizmos, unless this aspect is equally fresh and exciting, interest wanes quickly. Look at the number of forum members who are rather fickle with their car loyalty despite having really lovely examples! People want to know what it's like to have/own/experience something because you only really know what it's like, if its yours. But then having ticked the box, move on.

Nothing new under the sun:

Personally I just use one of these:

And Feather blades. I think I paid about £15 for all my blades last year :)

Unfortunately I need a safety razor that tilts, flexes for the head as well as chin.
