Shift feel of 3200

I have driven my friends' 3200 and noticed that the shift feel differs from car to car. Mine is tight and positive, but one was a bit lose and vague. Another was much looser, and the shift lever moved left to the right, even in gear.

Does anyone know which part causes this symptom? There are only a few parts in the linkage.

So, 325253176, which you replaced with BMW one, is the main culprit in your opinion, right?

It was on mine.

I know from BMWs the ball seat (no6) is a common thing to replace too.
If you look at the pics in the thread, the plastic bags have the BMW part numbers on for some of the bits I used. It’s a pretty standard Getrag linkage, the length is the only real car specific bit.
