I fully intend to end up somewhere warm and sunny with the Ms rather than a shed!

Ivan is a bit of a legend though.

Just watched another of his videos about buying his first Ferrari and the Race MGB and working in his workshop on the spanners.
He really is inspirational and reminds me of my late father.
A lot can be learnt from his generation of which I'm very grateful and thankful.

Well I have learnt something today on his engine builds that he never puts oil on the piston rings.
He goes in hard and dry and it's never failed him.

Mr Bugatti as I was growing up in the 70s/80s. Would love to know what he thinks about the current Goodwood money no object/continuation car racers.

Don’t like that idea, most of my engines sit a while before they go in, you’ll get rusty bores with no oil.

Totally agree Tim but he tells some interesting stories and is big on testing.
I have to say I'm a bit addicted to watching him.
Debbie does Dallas is so yesterday ;)

I used an American running in oil in the Vette that’s supposed to burn off from the bores. It was quite surprising the smoke it produced so guessing it was working. Always used GTX in the past.

It's later in the day and most of my work is done, thinking about that Ivan took a wreck 3500GT and turned it into this beautiful open two seater...I wonder if something similar could be done with early GranTurismos.

If you were take an early one, possible variator issue, MOT failure or both for say 10k or less you could strip and sell the superflous items to help the budget and rebuild it with a 'swoopy' 60's body or as a Trofeo Tribute..thoughts?
