I'm looking to do an oil change on my engine, transmission and diff. Does anyone have a copy of a service manual for a GT? Preferably including the F1 trans.

Thanks.

Ps....as far as I know the F1 transmission and Diff are connected and use the same oil.

I did an oil change on this last year, see here.

P.s on the engine oil change

  1. They are sensitive to oil level. Approx 9L, conaero has a great procedure do a search for it
  2. Don't tighten the engine oil drain plug to 60 nm...apparently they are known for stripping. For me it was ok, but I found out after.
  3. Beware fake oil filters. If the engine oil filter is not in a bag wet with oil from pre testing or pre lube...it is fake. There are other signs just Google

Becareful here as i understand it when the word gearbox and differrential is used, it is for the ZF....and they are different

The F1 diff oil and gearbox oil are the same which is a 75-90 and of course the F1 fluid in the hydraulic system is different. As far as I understand the F1 gearbox and diff are integrated in the F1 gearbox housing and when you change the gearbox oil, the diff gets drained as well. The ZF is different design.

See picture of my F1 owners manual

P.s good to know about the opie sports maserati discount....do you have to call them or is there a code? I actually work within 0.5 miles of opie and buy lots of things. I normally wait for a sale, so a regular to use code would be good

When you get to the checkout there's a drop down discount box for all the clubs and forums

Does that include the F1?

I have the 2014 GT service manual which explains the ZF....I cant find a F1 version. For F1 information i am using a QP5 service manual and maserati academy training documents
Yes @strictly , multiple manuals in the email to download.

If you want to DM with email address I’ll forward.

@StradaleDave did mention an error opening so when I get a sec I’ll try consolidate into a wetransfer if the original links don’t work.
They open fine from my iPhone.

So just to clarify, for the F1 transmission, diff and trans are combined. And the oil is 75W90? Is that correct?

Yes this is how i understand it, but wait for someone else to confirm.

I concluded this from the following

  1. General research, old threads here.
  2. Diff oil not mentioned in F1 owners manual or F1 workshop manual. See picture for snapshot of f1 manual.
  3. Datasheet for original Shell oil mentions combined unit, not those exact words. See picture
As far as I understand there is a limited slip diff, and the oil needs to be suitable. I used the factory shell oil, but In the UK that is easy to get hold off. I bought from autodoc and ebay

Granted they are on this side of the pond, but Formula Dynamics does a nice kit of parts, fluids, etc. for services in the right varieties, quantities, etc.

Hey! Grab a copy of the GT Workshop Repair Service Manual from ELSA Win or AutoRepairManuals.biz. It covers all fluid specs, capacities and torque settings including the F1 transmission specific procedures. Make sure it matches your model year. Good luck!
