I would get it done and a dealer covering letter as to why it was missed. It's not really a disaster in the scope of things .

What Allan said.

Did you pay anything for the non-service?

See if you can wangle a bit of a discount too or maybe a complementary sheepskin jacket and trilby.

Get it serviced, but I’ve always found Honest John will reply with great advice. Just drop him an email, even though he’s busy trading and writing for newspapers he’s never once not replied to a query. His last advice was to buy the best Maserati I could afford, advice echoed on this forum.

It’s a lease car, get it serviced and don’t worry about it.

My Evoque (same car) hasn’t come with a service book and nor did my Q3. I’ve never been asked on return for any proof of service.

Get a letter from the dealer admitting their liability and if they say no, inform JLR and your lease company but personally I wouldn’t worry about it.

It’s interedting what a lot of stick the JLR brand gets regarding reliability. My Evoque has been spot on. I must confess this is the first JLR I’ve had but I am impressed.

No physical service books on LR for last six years or so.

Our Leased Levante is now due a service. Does it make any difference who perfomed the service when car is returned?

The way I would look at it is to take the amount you would save by not using a MD and then divide it by the lease term and then decide how material it is in relation to how much you are already paying per month. I'm not having a go but it can't be that much so its not worth your time.

looking for convenience rather that cost saving.
Our closest Main dealer is HR own St Albans, but workshop is actually Hendon. Do not fancy a drive to Hendon - plus they failed to secure courtesy car last time. The alternative is Peterborough so have pinged them.

My leased Leon is due to be picked up in two weeks, BCA will be collecting. How fussy are they? Its been serviced and is clean inside and out, any other tips?

Get their damage guide and measure any dents / scratches. We returned VW Tiguan and chose the certainty of dent repair man over £200+ per panel

I have had variable collection results from a number of companies... Make sure you take pics and check carefully the handover sheet the collection agent gives you / if electronic sign off suggest you request it to be emailed before the car is handed over to save any disagreements... I once had a 350z collected ... one bloke came and did the handover inspection, signed up and good to go.. 24hrs later another driver came and promptly reverse turned in my road, clipped an Oak tree with the front wing edge and ripped the painted bumper cover off... ouch.. bet he didn't get paid for that.. Had BCA, i think, collect an alfa a few years back and i ended up with a parking ticket.. all got sorted amicably.. Strangest one was a BMW collection of a Z4mCoupe .. the agent argued night was day that the tyres were not "BMW" approved.... even wrote it on the collection form which i added comments of "disagree with this section"... i let that run for a bit, backward and forwards, and eventually sent them the main dealer invoice for them and they agreed whilst no "BMW" stamped it was the BMW dealers issue .. as RS48635 says you should be able to get the car collection inspection standards book from them, most lease companies use the same one, and perform your own checks for alloy scuffs, dents, dings etc.. is worth a look and i agree.. better to pre-sort than pay the premiums that they charge....

My Audi TT went back at the beginning of March and they were fine. Apart from some road rash, the bodywork was good but the wheels had a few brushes with kerbs. I did what Rob suggested and looked at the damage standard book. They charged me £36+VAT per wheel; much less than if I'd for them sorted myself.
