Self Isolation .....The positives

I am finding myself looking for ways to occupy my time , almost an exercise in preparing for retirement which has always frightened me , having seen one parent with no hobbies or interests wither a way in front of the telly only to die a few years after retirement. I always planned to be different in so many ways , a car nut from an early age , love my garden , and my 2 budgies ( sad i know ) and of course family and people. All of those ae more than enough to keep me content least until im gaga ,

Whats happened with the self isolation is that family and people are temporarily now out of the equation for the time being , attending to a car which is .....or will be miles away and will involve contact is going to be difficult at best , ( one has to look at the worst scenario ) some one hits you and you are involved in an accident , hence you need to be taken to hospital to get checked out , thus putting oneself or others with a chance of contamination. So in my eyes all travel should be off the agenda if you want to keep safe.

So where does that leave us ............into the garden which is fine by me providing the weather stays fine. what are others up to , other than spending extra ordinary amounts of time on here

Been out in the garden too.
Bit of a chop, cut lawn for first time etc, brown garden wheelie bin full for collection on Wednesday.
I guess it's still only March too.

Apart from a cycle ride and trip to see my boy. Had some stuff to pick up at van. I’ve been in garden all day. I’m deliberately leaving garage tidy up until lockdown. I’m now sat in garden room with a beer chatting to family. Both my girls are really anxious about the future.
ive been looking at online courses.
ive got thousands of photos to scan onto a hard drive.

Quality garage time is my plan.

Just taken the GT out for a couple of hours .... roads are empty and petrol is cheap.

Grass cut, stuff pruned, patio cleaned (a bit), garden furniture pressure-washed and - joy of joys! - some time spent cleaning the Vantage. Not proper quality time, but enough to appreciate how bloody good it looks when it's clean, gently clay-mitted and generously treated to some detailing spray.

Sadly, it seems like I'm not the only one who appreciates a nice clean car.

Bloody rooks! In any case, it's pretty clear that I need to stock up on essential supplies in case of a thorough lockdown in the coming weeks. I need snowfoam and shampoo. Sod toilet roll. Well, except maybe for the rooks.

Been spending time in our fruit/olive tree orchard here in the Algarve. There something very relaxing about spending a few hours on a little tractor. Also, made our first stab at homemade Limoncello. It’s actually very good, better than most of the commercial stuff.

I’ve washed all my car cleaning mitts and drying towels today in preparation for the next few weeks....

Envious , never the same cleaning the Mercs , find it too difficult to put in the same amount of effort , they are boring to drive so get a boring clean
