Has anyone had anything to do with the Chinese SD2-3 Testers. Still chasing one that will do Airbags etc on my 2002 Coupe. I dont need clutch reset as I have a manual car but I would think that anything that will do Airbags will do the lot . Colin

I contacted them for the SD2 tester and they told me they only have software for SD2 testers, but hardware for SD3.

Apparently there was someone on the Dutch MaseratiChat that engineered a “mini sd2 tester”.
Trying to get my hands on it in the hope I could update / re-engineer it but no success yet.
Marcel is his name but the link is not active anymore and the site doesn’t allow (activate) new subscribers to contact him.

You’re better off buying a MAC tester, it does 90% of all the function including gearbox learn but won’t tell the car it’s a new clutch/zero wear.

I have one of these. The guy on the Dutch forum was called Marcel or Marcel 3200 or similar.

There was an updated software for Windows instead of the original which required a laptop specifically for the tester.

It works really well including the other ECUs like ABS etc.

I imagine @boomerang knows this guy but I tried to contact him unsuccessfully.

I also looked at the Chinese unit & found it is a knockoff of the Italian testers. If you read the brochure it is,word for word, the same as the Italian units. You are correct, they only supply software, which is SD3,however,they claim that it can understand SD2 "in emulation mode". Such qualifications make me wary of considering them further. Fortunately I have access to a Leonardo tester & it does everything in SD2.
Lots of testers in the USA for SD2 in Ferraris,I'm not intelligent enough to understand whether they would work on a Maserati. If others on this forum have used these units I'd be interested to see the details.

Username on maseratilife.nl was mhov3

I know, this is the page with the software download links but they don’t work anymore...

Mini SD tester release 3

Also a guy “biturbista” was involved.

From the old posts it looks like our friend @boomerang indeed knows (knew) him.
