Scuttle Slosh

Revitalised.
Recurred passenger side cill sloshing. Checked the scuttle drain, all clear.
I'm stumped as to where the water is ingressing. It's had little road activity, and mainly sitting. Heavy persistent rain over the last couple of weeks.

Planning a local reliable garage up on the ramps for inspection.

Anyone with similar experiences

Check the door drains are not blocked.

Also take the front mats out and pull the square floor panels to see if water is sloshing in there. The ecu’s live down there and that will be a bad thing.

Thank you Matt for you attention, especially from Umbria.
I'll get the local garage to take a look while I'm waiting for a slipped disc to recover. Easier up on a ramp.
Thanks again

Does the GT have drains right under the bonnet hinges? My 3200 has this - series of drilled holes get covered in leaves which are invisible once covered in water (on my black car at least.
Off out to check my QP right now.

It does, I took from Robins initial post that these have been tended too already?

This is a design fault on so many cars, we have had water in the cabin due to inaccessible scuttle drains being blocked on numerous cars over the years.

They need to be bigger, easily accessible and on the service schedule.

I'm just anxious to fix it. The thought of water trapped in the sill. However, I hadn't contemplated that it maybe in the door itself. We'll see

I'm pleased to report that the sloshing has been fixed.
Well, more relieved than pleased.
Although I thought that I'd removed the door drain plugs before, I must have removed the wrong things. My local garage spent a couple of hours, taking off the scuttle cover, ensuring drain was clear and cleaning surrounds, but the culprit was the passenger door drain. Quite a lot of gunge, so only slowly draining away, especially following a drenching with the snow foam and pressure washer. Both sides done.

A simple enough procedure, which I'd suggest checking.

Sills all good, and they were impressed with Matt's work on the underside structure cleaning and protection.
Relieved from thoughts of water rotting away the sill.

Deep joy.

I’ve been meaning to ask you for ages, but is that a poodle or 4 merkins?

I had to look up merkin, and certainly didn't know that the term was first recorded in 1450. Plus ca change.
It's a poodle, madame, of Montravia line, named Rose
