Collected this on Monday (always wanted to try a Corrado and a VR6 too). It was sat for months but had an MOT so needed a recommission to get it back to a daily drive.

It was grim dirty on collection day.

Firt job jet wash and get a new battery on it.

Then on the ramp where underneath is pretty solid with just surface rust so next week will clean off and then waxoyl the whole lot.

Then a full service, oil filter, oil, fuel filter, air filter, pollen filter, clutch slave cylinder, NGK Platinum plugs, redex, brake calipers, discs and pads..... Fixed the sunroof and mirrors and then gave it a **** good valet.

The BBS replica alloys are not my preference and neither is the ride height (it's lower than a Ferrari 458 and GTS) but it crertainly looks mean and "stanced" with the spacers etc.... I do like the look so will get some use out of the tyres and then put some original speedline alloys onto it in Spring and adjust the coilover to a decent ride height.

I'm pretty happy so far, it's a Coupe that really hasn't aged and I actually like it as much as the Maserati Coupe (3200,4200 etc) styling.

Another one saved from rotting away and the reaction it has received has been positive so far. Sounds good too thanks to Powerflow Cat back (decat pipe ready to be fitted).

My mate used to have one, lovely cars, was always a bit jealous of it.
He had countless leaks with his sunroof, I think that is a common issue.
He was always having to replace broken fog lamps as they are low and made of rice paper it would seem.

I think it died in the end with a head gasket failure.

Newton, tell me, I have snagged the splitter many times on the slightest of inclines and speed bumps.

It is going to DMC for a proper detailing and winter protection as I want to get the best out of the Pearlescent paint.

Always wanted one as well, nice one.
you don’t see them on the road anymore.

Most have rotted out basically. There are 900 VR6's left, less G60's and even less 2.0's. They never sold well back in the day as they were too expensive. They also never drew people from their 3 series etc.... I love it, one of the best car's I've enjoyed so far. I just prefer classics to new cars, soulless pseudo-aspirational euro boxes. They don't make them like this anymore!

They handle great for a heavy (for the day) front engined car. The inside wheel was always lifting up on hard cornering.

Wasn't the limited edition one call the 'Storm'? Which you could only get in a dark blue colour?

Yes one of the best handling FWD cars ever made (Integra Type R takes that award) and yes Storm was UK only edition, 500 cars, 250 in Classic Green (same as mine) and 250 in mystic blue, all came with BBS Solitude alloys and colour coded grille etc.... No other upgrades just a run out limited ed...

Well done Phil. Nice car. But I agree that the wheels and ride height need sorting.

A friend of mine has the very last UK car. He bought it directly from VW UK (not a dealer) and it is a low mileage, one owner car, kept in a Carcoon and used on special occasions. Totally original and immaculate. So if you need to see a perfect example, you are welcome to come and take a look Phil. It's here in Dorset.

Nice car, our local car club social secretary has one that was in one of the classic rags recently.

Had a midnight blue vr6 rad before marci, not a storm unfortunately but loved it and never tired of looking in rear view at 45mph to see the spoiler go up........just a wee boy at heart I guess lol. Probably the only car I regret selling.
Will have a look in garage for any parts for you, pretty sure there is a set of original fogs which are pretty hard to come by since they crack.....frequently :(

I brought a tax free one back from Germany, forgot the name for the blue/purple colour, Father went daft as they were so expensive, Had it a year, tax reasons and then got what I paid for it...

That has come up well.

Normally I’d say those wheels are a bit Essex wide boy but I really like them on that.

It’ll look even better when the guy details it; judging by the scratches on the bonnet, that’s the before shot.

First pass. You can see the 50:50 shots, much more like a mirror and bright paintwork. Can you not see on the bonnet?
