Agreed.

I have a 1m scissor at home due to height restriction and 8 two posts at Sportsitalia.

2 post all day long but the scissors are excellent for the home diy’er with limited height.

I would say get a double full lift scissor even if you can’t use all the height.

Things change and you might find you move and have the extra height. You can always drag them outside for full lift jobs.

Can these plates / covers be fitted the other way up?
The way they are fitted water sits in the pressed strengthening, seems to me they would be better the other way so water can’t lay there, if that makes sense.
Took mine off yesterday, water was still there from Saturday and has nowhere to drain.

Good spot Scaf. That would make more sense.

I guess the problem with that is that they wouldn’t bolt up flush to the body, creating yet more water traps. They are a pain any way round.

Turn it upside down and fit nylon spacer washer to suit or just treat the sh1t out of the top of it before fitting is probably enough.

That's interesting. I've had water sloshing

As Zep says if you flip them then they won’t sit flush.

you could nylon spacer them but the ramp arms would then crush them.

Answer, I guess get some made flat from a thicker gauge material.

Personally they do a job and are cheap and easy to replace so wouldn’t dwell on it too much.

Agree with Matt's comments. I had mine replaced at a reasonable cost so not worth the angst in trying to modify the plates which aren't made to be turned up side down.

Hmmmm. I wonder if my engineering company can do some nice shiny stainless ones. Cheaply.

I don’t disagree but if for the sake of drilling a hole before rust treatment I can avoid water sitting there I think I will. It’s useless design they should have been made to fit the other way up.

I've never seen a straight one on a GT lol. So annoying. Unfortunately, the side skirt mounting brackets are easily bent and causes the the skirt to ripple like that.
