What is running cost if 2008 on wards of granturismo. I just interested in servicing, general wear tear etc for long term ownership. Not fuel, tax or insurance etc. Thanks

I would suggest that with servicing and repairs, you should consider a budget of £2,500 per annum for servicing and repairs. This would insulate you from most one off repairs such as brakes, suspension bushes and the like.

Depends on miles and who looks after it and if it has had the variators done.

Budget 2/3k pa for services and repairs.

Depends on mileage, as the more you do, the sooner you’ll need new tyres, brakes, etc. But as a rough guide, over a few years, with a typical Maserati mileage, let’s say an average of about £1500 a year.

This is based on a service of £1500 every other year, and further repairs/renewals of £1500 also being necessary every other year.

All depends on what kind of owner you are.
I've had repair bills that weren't necessary but I want all my cars to be spot on, replacing most of my suspension etc.
As mentioned above, £2.5k seems reasonable, if you have a good indy.

One service bill I saw for a 2008 with 50kmiles it was 9k!!! 2-3k a year I could handle. I wouldn't be doing much mileage 3-5k max a year.

I'd be interested to see what was included on that? Sounds like a new engine???

Service, oil change, full set of bushes, brakes and quite a few other small things. Seeing it put me right off.

Lots of the big stuff is well within the bounds of a confidant DIY'er with some tools, it'll save you thousands
Paying £600 plus vat for what is basically an oil and filter change and a stamp in the book is severely taking the p*ss..

You know who you are!

£1500-2000 a year on average (£3-4k every other year) is definitely safe if the variators have been done and you’re using an reputed indy - which I think is all you need.
An MC shift might be a tad more expensive due to the clutch needing doing every 25-40k depending on driving style

As per the consensus £2-3k/year to run a 10+ year old V8 maserati. Some years it may be £2k some it may be £4k

Get one that has not seen winter salted roads too often in it's life

Saw a 2008 GT with a rotten front subframe recently (beyond repair so needed a new one) so make sure you have a proper poke around, seems Italians and rust proofing don’t go together.

This is something I noticed when looking for cars, the undersides tended to look poor.
The car I bought had benefited from underbody protection. I've just had it professionally cleaned and protected again, with particular attention to the subframes which were reported to be in very good order. I also had the cover plates replaced at the same time to keep it A1.
I think this sort of maintenance is often overlooked, but it pays dividends in the future.

Those cover plates are rubbish. Happily they’re also dirt cheap. I splashed Hammerite over mine now waveydavey’s) before fitting them.

Is rusting subframes a thing ont GTs? Heard about it on GS and older cars but not sure about GTs and GCs?

Certainly is and in my opinion the subframes on the original Coupe/GS was better made than on a GT/QP.
Having changed one on a QP I wouldn't do it again by choice unless it hadn't been driven on salted winter roads up north.
