Stupidly I wore a brand new pair of dark Levi’s on a 750 mile round trip in my Jaguar XJ and no amount of cleaning with various leather cleaners has removed the mark across the back of the seat / lumber support.

I have also tried steam, but no luck.

Any ideas or recommendations before I book it in with a specialist?

Mrs Crud managed a similar trick with the cream leather seats in my old XF-R. If I remember rightly, warm soapy water did the trick. These days I might start with the Gliptone intense cleaner instead.

That and you may need a colour reviver after that. A good leather specialist (car upholsterer) could help with /advise some good products.

Don't use steam again, longer term it can rot the leather.

Proper leather cleaner and a soft brush to build up a foam...it will take a few goes...ask how I know,

My seats in my Ford Fiesta come up like new with Autoglym Interior Shampoo, gets all the stains out of the fabric, apparently you can use it on leather too BUT you mustn’t spray directly on the leather but apply to the rag you’re using.
Test in non visible area first etc
Reminded me of this chap I knew 20+ years ago in his nearly new red Ferrari he’d just bought, lovely cream leather, his Mrs at the time forgot about the blue biro pen in her back pocket on this lovely warm day and it sprung a leak.

I had a brand new Astra GTE MK2 and collected the curry from the local takeaway on the front passenger seat, only 5 miles but when I took it out I noticed the curry had leaked into the lovely rainbow seat fabric, no amount of cleaning would clear it but got lucky as a friends Dad had a scrap yard and pulled in a motorway right off so he let me swap the seat for a few quid
