Would it help with the door sill rubber that I suspect has gone a bit stiff and causing the motor anti-pinch sensor to think there's an obstruction?

It has good reviews, be interesting to see how it performs.
I wonder how something that is water based can help prevent freezing?

I've always used silicone grease on all my framless window rubbers, T-bar roof etc and that has always done a good job. It's what rubber manufacturers say to use, so good enough for me.

I used to put silicone grease on the exposed rubber seals on radar iso containers back in the day. Keeps the supple and prevents them drying out and getting crumbly. You see old classics suffering from this. It's such an easy fix

Mrs MLCs Z4 used to ice up in the winter making it difficult to get in after a frost, like the Maserati it has rimless windows. I wonder if this would help?

The Mrs Audi cab used to freeze shut. I read somewhere to use glycerine from a supermarket. Quick wipe over with a cloth and it worked a treat. Lasted all winter no problem. I think it was only £1 or something out of the cooking section! No damage on the rubbers either.

Do you mean this stuff? It's 90p from Tesco..View attachment 60568
That's the stuff. It is a bit sticky and I was sceptical but it wiped off nicely. The window got a little residue on the edge which was only noticeable when open and I just wiped it off. I may have left too much on the rubbers to start with. I wound the windows down and did the bottom rubbers too.

Better to have a greasy window than a burnt out motor or knackered regulator. Oh and an upset wife because you kicked her car out of the garage to fit yours in! :as002:

Last year we got both cars in the garage. It's a tandem garage and was a tight squeeze, just inches to spare. I put a piece of thick polystyrene in between.

Go to a plumbers outlet and buy a tube of silicone grease for a pound. Best thing for rubber seals.
