Roll cage thoughts

I chatted with Outrun about this a while back, a lovely add on in my opinion, but I'd probably be stuffy enough to want the all OEM parts, and I believe at the time, that added up to about 4KGBP. But there was a stock problem? Can't quite remember.

The OEM kit would probably add at least its cost to the value of the car? Not sure if an aftermarket would.

Either way its a great project and I'm happily following.

Since none of you race your Stradali, why do you need to make it out of metal?
Take the Lancia rally route... ;)

Yup, i think i'd want the OEM stuff too only. Not that it's any better or worse, just I think it's OEM that adds value.

Perhaps gather a few committed buyers and approach Maserati to make a batch of the required bits and bobs, as well as a wee discount? Give them a reason to actually make the parts that are not on the shelf.

It's not just about racing them MLC, it's about enhancing the rigidity of the body shell to improve cornering and turn in during spirited road driving.

Or maybe, it's just because they look cool.

But certainly metal and not cardboard a la Lancia homologation tricks.

Will you notice the rigidity or just the extra weight?

Go the Blue Peter way...

sounds like fun - would have one in a two seater. The harness is invaluable for spirited driving.
Keep the intertia reel belts for when you stop out for milk / fuel / Prosecco

Thread update.
After three months of waiting, the final parts have now arrived from the factory. So I now have everything, present and correct, ready for fitting.
It all looks good, but the prices are, well, Maserati-esque!
Here's the list, inc VAT.

Roll cage - £1440
Pillars and brackets - £888
Screws/plugs - £132
Branded 4-Point Belts - £1475
Branded pads for belts - £205
Roll cage pads (in Blu Trofeo) - £413

TOTAL = £4553

Although the factory originally said it was "available", judging by the time line, I think they meant available as in it could be manufactured!

Now for the fun and games of fitting.

Blimey. When you said the rollcage was £1500 I thought that’d be the cage not half of it!

What are the “pillars and brackets”?
