RO 80 Cabriolet

I seem to be strangely attracted to this 303400608117 always loved the RO 80 for it's innovation both mechanically and styling ( a bit like the Citroen DS totally out of its time),

Oh Wow! I didn't think any would still exist let alone a cabriolet.
I see that the original Wankel engine has been replaced with the RX8 Wankel. Smart move as early Wankels suffered from tip wear.
Looks like a good deal.

Later ones are much better but still an issue, they need regular oil changes and need to be revved hard regularly to ensure tip wear is minimised. They also drink juice but the turbine smoothness makes them nice to drive - rotary combustion, rotary movement

Wow remember my father going through that phase too with an early 4 plug RO80 and when it was going it was a revelation in the early 70'S.
He gave it another go later buying a brand new RX7 which I remember driving was a fun car and a pretty one too.
I reckon that one with the history was a bargain.
Did you buy it ????
