The RNLI is one of the few charities that I support - it is a travesty that these guys and girls do not receive state funding.

Same as me the one charity I always support

State funding without state control would be good, but not the other way round.

Absolutely full respect to the RNLI
All the years I had Speed boats never once needed their assistance but saw them go out on many occasions because of Idiots.
The Sea certainly has to be shown respect as it can change so quickly.

That's a 15t Shannon Class lifeboat being bashed around like a cork, over 500HP from 2 x 9litre caterpillar engines plus 2 waterjets outputs and its finding it hard to move around so what chance 1 x human and a surf board

Had a private tour round the Tenby boat last week... £50 into thier collection tin and well deserved.

Approved to take 150 souls if required.

My father's last post was navigator / winchman on Whirlwinds SAR out of Coltishall. Used to spend quite a lot of time in the RNLI stations Cromer and Yarmouth
