The late 70's George Best.

I only saw clips of him, but from what I saw he was a quality player.

On and off the field!

In the Wanderers match programme he once answered a Q and A;

Favourite Club: Stringfellows
Most Difficult Opponent: My wife....

Proper character.......

I remember too the entire Wanderers Squad getting free cars from a local dealer, including Frank. Unfortunately they were a Lada dealer, not Big Frank's style. No my memory differs from what I've heard here but I distinctly remember him turning up on the club car park next in a Maserati (Miura I think) but I've since been informed it was a mere Jag XJS. Surprised I would get it so wrong, I knew my Masers even then, unlike the average Joe. I'm sticking with the Miura.....

Used to watch him play non-league for Guiseley in the NE Counties League when I was about 14-15, he was in his 40’s, still had it, and pulled the crowds in.

Not sure what Frank drove whilst at Leicester, but he was first out of the ground after each game, dressed up to the nines. My Dad was a steward at Filbert St and I remember waiting in the corridor outside the changing rooms. Vivid memory of him wearing a purple velvet suit topped off with a Fedora and fluffy scarf.

Top striker, but would never go and get the ball. Could fit in well nowadays.

RIP

Let him think it was a 'Maserati' Miura....the guy is in bereavement...

Old school but great bloke, met him once when he was a guest of Alan Kennedy at dinner we went too, the pair tried to drink the bar dry and nearly succeeded but the football stories they shared would shock the modern world.
