Just wanted to post my pictures of my Resonator Delete....the pictures show a cost effective way on achieving the same results for a fraction of the price of buying an X Pipe ...

Does it effectively make it an X-pipe by removing the silencer that negates the aural properties of the X-pipe?

It's just like fitting an unsilenced X pipe from Larini or Marios etc, except you've saved a bundle by cuttinging out the X pipe resonator and welding some pipe to connect it up instead.

Some years back I had an 06 Quattroporte Sport-GT, and that car did not have the center resonator right from the factory, and it sounded very nice. I currently have a 2013 QP-S and am seriously considering doing this modification. Kawasaki...can you share your impressions of before and after?

Mine has a Mario X and is booked in to have GT valved boxes fitted that I got from fleabay. The tips have to be extended to fit.
The X gives a little bit of pop and crackle but still quite quiet. Open valves should help and then I will decide whether sports cats are needed.

Just like my Sport GT... took it for a new x only to be shown, when in the air that there was no resonator... it's not often you take one of these things to the garage and not get stung!!!

I too have often wondered why people buy X-pipes instead of getting this done - what is it, a 1 hour job and £50 in parts ?

Pehaps with the idea of being able to "go back to stock"

yeah...As if!

Mine is gathering dust in the corner of my garage, the irony being that the guy that made my X had to cut the original out in the first place and I asked him to weld the pipes back onto the resonator!

Exactly, I'm getting the original cats back but they've just going to end up sitting on a garage shelf.

Incidentally, my son did end up going to Pangbourne College so I'm driving through the town most Saturdays now.

I was there on Saturday picking up a Para. We should meet up. They have a classic car show on June 1 where I'm flying the maser flag. The sole example for the last 3 years!
However it's probably the last thing your son wants is to go back to school as it's probably half term.
