My rear discs came in massive Maserati boxes, still not done the eBay thing - £25 quid each for the boxes? Apple TV boxes go for £40.....

Scuderia for my new one. Something OCD in me about getting the part in a Maserati part box. Very sad I know....
You know what's probably even more sad is the fact that I keep the Maserati parts boxes after I've taken out the contents and used them!

If you look at the difference in price between boxed and un-boxed Apple TV's it may make some more sense.

Regarding the badge, ripping it out the front is the best route.

Have spend ages getting to the nut underneath then it just spins so you end up having to revert to route 1.

Just make sure you protect the surrounding paintwork.

I did mine a year or so ago...it sounds a little scary but I used a Stanley knife to cut the badge logo as underneath that is the nut holding it in place which you can then undo.

I then stuck my new one on using the sticky back, it’s never moved since.
This is the way to go. I tried removing the grill and the fan housing and started to try and undo the plastic nut from underneath. then I though how the **** am I going to get the nut back on when it is sunk into 3 inches of insulation and you can only do it bu feel?. I reverted to this process which took about 5 minutes.

Perhaps it's me, but that was a nightmare. Prying open the top of the badge was straight forward, exposing the head of the bolt - but that itself was recessed into the back of the badge, which meant I wasn't able to get a socket nor a set of long nose pliers onto it.

The ensuing process was painful, but with the precision of a drunken horse I managed to separate the back of the badge away from the bolt allowing me to twist it free.

But, it's done now - looks much better, and if it needs changing in future there's no need to mess around with nuts and bolts.

I've got my new badge on order from eurospares. £50 inclusive of vat and post. Might as well made of silver.

I would appreciate a clarification, after you managed to pull out the old badge, i assume it is a hole. Do you just screw by turning the new one in place? Doesn't it need a nut or smth on the other side of the panel?

I think most people have drilled it out from the top (scary!) and just glued the new one on.

If it's the 'original badge', then it'll be held down by both adhesive and a nut and bolt. The bolt head can be accessed once the 'shiny' top of the badge is gouged out/removed... the nut is on the underside, but if you're careful, twisting the bolt head will result in it eventually becoming free... and the nut will just fall loose on the underside, hasn't caused an issue for me!

The new badge you've ordered will come with an adhesive sticker pre-applied - from memory there's like a plastic locating lug at the back of the badge, use that to help align the badge into the recess, remove the sticker, and stick it down. It is a total waste of time to even think about or consider using a nut and bolt to secure the new badge into place... and impossible for the most part without taking the bumper off. Plus, should you need to change it in future, it's infinitely easier to replace a badge that's stuck down rather than bolted down!

Personally I took the grille out and undid the nut on the underside. It was easy and didn’t involve risking to paint on the top. It’s easy to undo the nut, much harder to put it back on, so I, like most, left it off.
Hey there... would you mind telling us a bit more about this process? Thinking of doing it myself soon too. Thanks!

I took the grill off when I did mine, 8 easily accessible bolts from memory and took the opportunity to give everything a good clean.

It was fairly straight forward, I removed the grille by removing the multiple allen bolts around the edge (use tape to protect the opening from scratches) then if you look up between the air conveyor (the bit behind the grill that directs the air toward the radiators) and the underside of the bumper you’ll find the nut that holds the badge on. I removed this, taped around the badge and gently pried it off using a plastic spudger.

Clean off the adhesive, stick the new one on and refit the grille, unless you really want the nut back on it.

Guess I'm the moron here (surprise!) as I did put the nut and bolt back on...twice. Spyder and Coupe both needed it...sigh.
