As a couple of you have Kindly encouraged me to share my experiences of a new Marque, I will attach some photos and initial impressions. I grudgingly moved from Italian Works of art to something a bit more usable. As one of my colleagues said - it may be more usable- but it doesn't blend in! I am not sure in this spec and colour combination many non car lovers would have any idea what it was. Its very stealth and has the most carbon / black options I have ever seen.
2018 DB11. 2000 miles. V8. Black with Red callipers and red contrast stitching. Carbon Badge pack plus Carbon interior and exterior bodykit packs. Exterior black pack, clouded tail lights etc. Interior black pack including satin black metal paddles and satin black metal on the dash. All the tech upgrades. The most luxurious seats I have ever sat in, and a stereo to die for. 192 list price.

I was more excited to have it delivered than either of my Ferraris for some reason. All my family and friends were certainly more receptive to it. Sadly, I think I will have to stop looking on auto trader for at least 12-18 months until the Portofino comes into a reasonable price range and I can consider it as a replacement. The top gear review sums it up - the DB11 will make you look cool even if you aren't. So its the perfect car for the time being!

Thoughts appreciated. Any mention of the Superleggera will be ignored. My wife wouldn't let me.

Well I love it Iain,
Just had a moment of silence and a deep breath from SWMBO when I mentioned every Gentleman should have an AM in their lives at least once, she wants a cabriolet so I have suggested this.........she did not swear but I think the inference was go away politely.....haha

Love the DB11 but please tell me it does not have the odd shaped steering wheel as on the vanquish...

Sorry to see the 458 go... why do you say the DB11 is more usable? Isn’t it a 2 seater in disguise?

Love that one Dave- not one for the shy!!
It has a totally different interior to the dated vanquish. It’s much much nicer. The partnership with Mercedes / AMG is very apparent in bringing together the best of both worlds... I can’t wait to get an excuse to drive it again.

Congrats ! She's a beauty!
My only questions is..how do you get away with changing cars so often? And i mean with the re-sale
Always when i was selling a car just few months later people we're very skeptic and nobody would believe that the car is a genuine one:)
Most probably selling to a dealer or px won't really matter to them!

I doubt it will be gone forever- although when I did suggest to my wife I may add a red 458 in the future she totally went bat **** crazy and started saying I should be investing in my child’s future. Here was silly old me thinking working my *** off and paying private school fees was investing in her future...

The DB11 has decent back seats (better than the Cali I think) and is ludicrously comfortable and high tech inside. It isn’t as brutal as the 458, but will still do 0-60 in 3.9 and sounds fantastic. I think both are amazing cars. There is a toss of a coin between between the 458, Cali T, DB11 and FF for me. All amazing cars and depends what you need.

Only Adam knows the secret.... these cars are hard to sell privately though. It has to be bought at the right price , sold appropriately and the new deal structured right. I will have to keep this one for a while, but I am happy with the financials - and it’s cheaper than the 458 (mildly) for a 2018 lump of evil joy.

Looks very nice. I really like the smoked lights.

Enjoy.
Thanks mate. Those were essential- as was the black pack. The carbon was a luxury. I still find some of the curved especially at the back- exquisite. It grew on me over a while, now I like it more than the vanquish.

I

The DB11 has decent back seats (better than the Cali I think) and is ludicrously comfortable and high tech inside.

Back when I was trying to chose a daily driver, I discounted the DB9 (still the best looking Aston to date) because backseats were a joke unless you had kids with no legs. I then went for the GT because of it. Never regretted it, but I never got to scratch the Aston itch...

If the db9 didn’t have an annual maintenance requirement, it probably would be sitting next to the Ferrari in the garage... just can’t justify 2 expensive annuals on to of our our daily drivers... wife wouldn’t be impressed

That really is an extraordinary well-spec’d car, Iain. Well worth all the hunting and haggling. Nicely done!

You know my thoughts already Iain...Its stunning in black and I'm not a black fan but I think in the spec you have it could be the best colour. Beautiful car my friend.
