Today mate in Silverstone now.
Deal Done and very pleased especially when you realise the seller is the sob of a renowned Ferrari specialist at Silverstone.Fingers crossed.
I've been in a few rag tops and owned Golf cabrios for years, and I reckon this is quieter... during the winter it certainly feels more like a 'proper' car... especially when covered in snowDespite the claims made for the hard roofs I’m not convinced it’s any quieter than my old Alpina with a fabric roof.
The 2.0 or 2.5 (the one I have) is actually quiet under 3k rpm. The lovely v8 only comes alive past that level - and in any case is still way quieter than a GT 4.7 in sports mode. It’s got the standard exhaust, I’ve not made my mind up about making it louder, it’s quite nice at times to be quiet.
I agree w the above. Mine had to get quite a few things fixed - which luckily were covered by the BMW all inclusive warranty. That included a complete replacement of the hardwood joints to prevent water ingress - that alone cost BMW £4K at retail price (probably a lot less a cost)Nice one mate... expect for a bit of a service and a few bits and pieces the next 12 months are sorted..
Unlike your old 3200!

It's catch 22 with old Maser 3200's.. when they start giving trouble you cant wait to get rid of the thingsThe 3200 disease seems to be contagious, I’ve just had to order a new rack for the race car. What with that, engine rebuild (race car), holidays and shotgun wedding (not mine, and the horse has already bolted/baby popped) the Mini is not going to be ready for Silverstone so hopefully out at Snetterton in June.
Will miss the Maserati feeling though.

6 months later on reflection you wish you hadn't sold it and then start looking around for another
There no escape!

Hardtop indeedHardwood joints? My spell check does annoying stuff too. Hardtop?
Despite knowing the horror stories, seeing the receipts, knowing the steering isn’t my kind of thing (not driven an AC), all the pitfalls etc... they do rather tempt each time I see one. It's catch 22 with old Maser 3200's.. when they start giving trouble you cant wait to get rid of the things

But as an objective journalist they’re very difficult to recommend...
In fairness I did pick the 3200 over the Jaguar XKR, Aston DB7 i6, BMW M6, Bentley Continental GT way back in issue 3/4. And as for journalistic untruths, I did go to Maserati Shed for the list of foibles, rather than copy horror stories off the internet.Yea, what's wrong with the steering?
Sorry mate, but If you haven't put your hard earned cash down and actually bought one instead of blagging freebies on road tests and telling lots of journalistic untrue's you'll never know!
