Watched this one go from £15995>£14995>£12995 to now £10995. I think I'll wait another few months for it to hit £6995! :D

Seems to be a difficult time to sell a car for over £10k without a warranty. I had my scirocco up for sale for 2 months with only a couple of enquiries before I part exchanged it for my CLS

Indeed. I think buying habits changing massively is hitting the ability to sell many cars privately now. No warranty but often no finance being a big issue.

I'm going to look at a 4200 on Weds morning that seems decent on the face of it being sold privately. Again didn't sell when advertised as not many want the car or want to buy it this way. If it is cheap enough it will make sense....if it is decent enough of course!

Early standard 4200 with no breakdown of its service history or clutch wear.

Addedd to it the new bumpers (big investment if not due to an accident)

Similar the the 4200/GS that was floating about a couple of years ago... so price wise its about right.

And photos make most cars look decent.

My thinking entirely. Been looking at the TVR going, maybe the Alfa GT going and the SL500 is going. To be replaced with a daily kind of sports car that presented good value and I could be a smidge less precious about. The 4200 kept on coming up in searches each time. A great deal of VFM.

Which one are you going to see?

For me I love the early 4200 with the raw gearbox software and in red she looks Stunning very tempting indeed.

Certainly looks like a great bargain, but I'm sure you will go there with your eyes wide open and know exactly what to look for.............Good luck!!

I've been trying to convince myself about the red/GS one but the black interior I'm not a fan off and that is the main thing you see when inside! For some reason the GS interior in black seems better than the 4200 in black. If it were tan/beige I would have been all over it. More so now at almost £10k.

Seems to me all the Maser 3200, 4200 and the GS series cars are going down in price, even the mint low miles cars, which there's only a handfull!

Maybe I'm wrong..

There are too many rough cars out there and a lot of basic dealers wanting too much for these same poor cars... drives the price down for all the range... but as RG posTed on a recent thread Good ones are not falling.

And reality is that a couple of £k loss is nothing to the tens of thousands lost each year with the new cars.

If you view it let me know what you think. I can't easily get to see it, but is a beauty. Didn't think I liked these cars until seeing them in that red. You're right that a cream interior would complete it.

Nope, few tell tale signs of it not being the finest looked after example though. Looks OK....not the best but not the worst. However a viewing often can be needed as many look different in the flesh to the pics.
