I need a new battery. I read here that the Bosch Silver 95 is great for the QPV. I wondered if the forum members had a view on what is the best for a 2008 Granturismo pls? Thanks.

Just bought a 75amp hour battery from Halfords
4 year guarantee - I had a £15 voucher
All in £70 (£95 sans voucher)
Seems to be fine - spins overall 3200 much better than my previous battery which was flat in a week

Sounds good RSM, we had to do that for our 3200 recently and that battery was only a few months old so under warranty, got it replaced..!!

The Bosch Silver is around £100 online. Just wanted to work out if it would do the job on the GranT

Not sure what they suggest for the GT but the Bosch Silver is a good battery and has a guarantee of I think it's 5 years..!! Bosch Silver S5 096 77ah, should get it for about £87/88 roughly..!!

Not sure the Bosch Silver is such a great battery but they do replace them under guarantee no problem. My present battery is a Bosch which replaced the previous Bosch which was just over a year old.

The battery died on my 2009 Gran Turismo a few weeks back (luckily it was in my garage at the time)

I just got the RAC to come and fit a new one - £150 all done.

No idea what the make of battery is but it is guaranteed etc etc

(btw, despite telling them EXACTLY what car the battery was for, they still turned up with the wrong one!)

I replaced mine last week with a Bosch Silver 100Ah thingy, 5 year warranty. If you buy from the Eurocarparts website the battery listed for the GT is a) too small, and b) not gutsy enough (listed at 75Ah). You need to get the battery for the QP. Mine was around £120 including delivery.

Bosch, Varta and a few others do good batteries, if the GT needs 100ah there are models out there that do the job..!!

Got the AA out - v knowledgeable guy tested the battery, initially thought it may be ok - investigated further and felt that it was dying but someway off being dead. A good knowledgeable battery guy. So I bought a 100ah rated battery, he fitted it perfectly, reset windows etc., tested it. Cost = £149 with a 4 yr warranty replaced anywhere in the UK. Easy really.

Exactly the same as me.

Only that the AA couldn't supply the battery so the RAC did instead.

Great service from both and the car has been fine since then.

You can boil a Bosch silver until it whistles like a kettle and gets too got to touch. I did it and it didn't explode but I would urge you not to try, just in case it does!

Always been a fan of Bosch Silver batteries, they take a lot of abuse and work well. Also the 5 year guarantee really is no quibble, they just give you a new one also with a 5 year guarantee (not all do that)
