Is that the whole story though..?

SKF GE15C all seeem to be open bearings..?

yes these are open, but you need to reuse the rubber covers from the old bearing on the tie rod, don’t think there is a source for replacements if torn or lost

I see...I take it they can be teased out then...!
Certainly cheaper than £68 (+VAT) Superformance want for their “equivalent” version...! Once bitten. :D

Yes there is no need to buy an equivalent / expensive version when it is only the bearing to replace.

I figured if the old ones lasted 65k miles and 13 years then they can't be that bad!

Surprising to hear about these failures from an upgrade what was marketed to potentially last the rest of the life of the car. Perhaps a dodgy batch of rose joints from the supplier. The aftersales approach they have offered you Tim is pretty typical for a small company offering specialist goods with the whole send back for testing and if you want a part you need to order an "advanced replacement" which is credited if an OEM fault is found

I got mine from Craig not FD and have been absolutely fine over 3 years and 10k miles - other than a smidge of surface rust. After reading this I am glad that I held on to my old tie rods just in case

It’s a fair comment Shoghi - I wasn’t too confident that the parts would be warranted at all tbh...
It’s the dismissive attitude as they diagnose it from across the pond. I just think it’s a bit arrogant to suggest three separate determination, two from specialist Maserati techs are all wrong....

If it were a large ticket item, I’d fight them all the way. In this case, the juice isn’t worth the squeeze. It’s a £16 part. That’s beyond cheeky...!
Steer clear of these control arms folks...Better just to send your cash to me and save yourself installation grief, cost & inconvenience. :)

A bit like the calipers seizing on the GTs that was discussed recently, I’m sure a large part of keeping the originals in good nic is in the environment seal’s condition....

Ditto me as well but will give them a good look over during the winter. Have kept my originals too though....

You’ll start thinking I’m stalking you but haven’t you just been through chassis tune @ Centre Gravity...? Pretty sure Pete ( or maybe a Chris did your car...?) would have noticed if they weren’t right....:)

I’m constantly changing Rose joints in the race car. They don’t last very long, the moment any dirt gets in them they’re a goner. There’s a reason they’re generally not used in OEM applications.

Boring fact of the day ;) Rose joints are named after Rose Bearings Ltd which is the same company that developed the first machine to automatically wrap different shaped sweets and is the machine that Roses chocolates are named after.

Indeed yes and good point! A very good job they did as well - heartily recommended.
