Here in Ireland everything is expensive, need rear pads so should I fit these for the interim till I can get some decent ones when I'm back in UK and near my favoured Indy with car in late Oct? I'd get some local back-street to fit them here, and swap em out in UK. Or I could ask Ken Plant, the nicest man in the exotic car industry here...

This might be controversial, but almost any brake pad is going to be ok these days. Since the R90 regulations came in, no brake pads sold in Europe can deviate from the performance of original pads by more than 15%.

So the days of Chinese pads with bolts stuck in them are gone. And so are properly sticky alternatives.

And it's only rears, if your speeding all weight is thrown to front so they are sooo unnecessary...

Who needs back brakes, certainly not me on the 70's on my Raleigh Chopper....

I just used autodoc for my handbrake shoes. Quality was lower end, but as they were only for an unused handbrake why spend over £200 for 4 shoes when you can have then for £13 plus delivery!

Gonna try, is the price for one side or both? Has to be both but you can't assume and website doesn't say....

I just bought Ferodo front pads for £38 from EBay and Mintex rears for £30 from Eurocar parts. It’ll be interesting to see how well they work...or not :)

Can you link me for those, think I’d prefer a name for a few more quid...

Sure. This is for the Ferodo front pads on eBay. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/263057950135

Eurocar had a special 50% off when I ordered the Mintex rears. Seems they now have Brembo and Pagid pads at good prices.

Only the front has a sensor and new pads won’t come with this. You should be able to transfer your old sensor if the light hasn’t come on and you are careful.

Well, I just left Ed’s Treads in Watford, where they skimmed my front discs for £100 - they were warped. I was planning to replace the pads, but the Ferodo ones I was supplied are incorrect...

Luckily the existing pads had plenty of meat on them! I can report that the on car skimming worked a treat, and the car now brakes smoothly and with no vibration. Highly recommended. Saved myself several hundred quid :)

I forgot to add that there were no sensors on my front pads! That was a shock!! Were they just not fitted by the previous owner? I can’t believe there would be no wear sensors on the front brakes.

As I'm in Ireland for a while, trip on ferry (hope I get the YB Yeats!) I reached here for some cheapos to get me around and home and found these...

Promised they fit QPV rears. 11 Euro, 9 quid! We'll see. they'll do for a month. New disks and pads waiting back home...

I believe if you leave them unplugged ( so not present/not fitted) that this will raise the dash warning indicating wear limit reached....
More likely it has been tied back out of the way for some reason...

I might be wrong of course. Having just elected to tie mine back, I admit I didnt just disconnect it because of the above theory....Although the plug connector itself isnt left vacated and susceptible to water ingress like this I suppose...

I just replaced the pads on all 4 corners of my 2013 GT. The new pads don't have wear sensors and after disconnecting the sensor wires from the front and rear, I don't get a dash warning.

May seem a little off topic, but make sure that grumbling is not the rear hubs/shoes (the ebrake). Mine were awful on a 10K mile car that has been driven in the rain twice in its life. Seems the adjustment at the factory is all over the place and they bind at a whim. I have a thread on here about this.
