I've been watching videos by a youtuber called Ratarossa.
Basically, he owns multiple Ferrari's in an assortment of conditions. You could say they are ruined, or that he has saved them, I'm inclined to think the latter, though there is perhaps an element of spectacle for the YouTube audience.
Anyway, in December, he bought and has now started to video document restoration of a UK supplied white Boxer that has <10k mils on the clock, but has been parked up outside, on a driveway, in England for 12 years.
I find him a little irritating, but entertaining none the less. So, not your usual barn find, I bet he wishes it was in a barn though!

The vid about the missing / stolen toolkit and jack is quite interesting... looking forward to see if he gets and leads on them.

I have to say, those BBI's are just beautiful

I’ve enjoyed watching this, would love to do something similar.

I generally prefer more technical stuff, This Old Tony, Project Binky, but still a good watch.

I also follow them. The Boxer was not for sale, at the time, and had stood for ages. A few people had previously tried to buy it. Agree some bits are irritating, but overall quite enjoyable.

I spoke to him recently through FerraiChat, he's a really nice guy. It's fun to see someone who is less concerned about looks, and more about performace. But I do want to help him wash the 512BB !!!

What does one expect leaving that sort of kit in a car thats to be taken away to a random car storage place?

Surely it would have been better and a **** of a lot more sensible to have stored them in the house... but then if you don't give a s h I t about the car, then why care about the sundries.

Problem is, the parts went missing before he bought it.
So if they were ever found/returned, unlikely, they would belong to the original owner technically.

Love the BB, one of my first plastic kits was a 365 BB and that early experience has stayed with me. Not watched these but might well do now and see how he gets on

I've been following the guy for some time now. I think he is really talented with a true unconventional passion for F. He hasn't uploaded a video for a couple of weeks now which is odd. I hope he is well.

Happy to say not all salvage contractors are sharks... One of my cars ended up in a police secure 3rd party salvage compound following an accident.. When the 5-0 had finished checking it for defects etc. and before the remains were collected by the insurer, I was approached by the Salvage company to arrange a convenient time to attend and collect my personal belongings. At the time of the incident I was not able to take my belongings but the Police gathered up my obvious chattels like wallet, house keys phone etc and returned them to me. There remained quite a few items of concern to me in the car - in the mullered boot of the car was my laptop in a rucksack with lots of related bits and pieces, various Id cards, a case of beer (unopened), a trickle charger, some personal hand tools, a gym bag and inside the car there was an IPod connected up in the armrest, a child seat, a selection of cables for phones etc, and usual stuff like ice scrapers. When I arrived at the storage warehouse I was very pleasantly surprised by the service. The manager had photographed each item as removed and inventoried them even down to OEM toolkit from bootlid remnants. He had them stored them in a locked office. I checked them over and was happy at which point he took me to the car and gave me the opportunity to have a root around in case he missed anything.

Don’t quite understand the police moved it thing, unless it was on the road

I think someone claimed that it is his and the police took custody until the ownership is clarified, or something along these lines. It is explained briefly in one of previous videos.

I am guessing your experience was following an accident, so not much else you could do... but this kit was left in the car for decades... I'm surprised more was not stolen over time, not just whilst in storage.

Not saying jts right, but the reality of our world.

We had a van nicked from work. Police found it in a breakers/chop shop six months later. They’d stripped engine, running gear etc but left £20k of survey gear in the back!

I thought this too!

There are comments on one of the videos from another you tuber who does detailing, I think they are planning a joint think once we are allowed to do that sort of thing.

Such a beautiful car.

I’ve watched a bunch of his older videos in the background as I work now, definitely growing to like the guy, he has the right idea to. Buy them to use them!

£80k... bargain or money pit?

My feelings are that a full engine rebuild is the only way to get top money for it come sale time.

I'm starting to wonder what has become of his 456. I know he has 7 or 8 Ferraris so they aren't all stored at home but he hasn't mentioned it for ages. I think he paid about $17000 unseen from the US. I'm amazed it actually had an engine by the time it arrived!
